Bollywood actress Aishwarya is seen posing with late Saroj Khan’s daughter at several international shoot locations.
Recently, Aishwarya was in the news since she was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate for questioning in connection to the 2016 Panama Papers probe.
The actress's statement was recorded under the provisions of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).
Aishwarya also submitted a few documents to the agency when she appeared before the agency at its office near India Gate.
Dubbed as 'Panama Papers', an investigation of a stockpile of records from Panamanian legal firm Mossack Fonseca by the Washington-based International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) in 2016 had named several world leaders and celebrities who allegedly stashed away money abroad in offshore companies.
The ICIJ stated that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had links with an offshore entity in the British Virgin Islands (BVI) that was created in 2005. Her family was also stated to be part of this offshore entity that had an "initial authorized capital of USD 50,000."
The company was reportedly dissolved in 2008. Abhishek Bachchan has also been interrogated by the ED in the past in another instance linked to the offshore leaks case, sources had said.
On the work front, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be seen next in director Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan. The film is based on Kalki Krishnamoorthy’s Tamil novel. Its ensemble cast also includes Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi and Sobhita Dhulipala, among others.
