Ahead of the highly-anticipated launch of Baarish 2, ALTBalaji and ZEE5 host an engaging digital press conference

Even in the times of a lockdown, trust ALTBalaji and ZEE5 to come to the fore with entertainment par excellence. With their upcoming romantic drama Baarish 2 all set to launch on May 6, the two leading homegrown OTT giants hosted a digital press conference today. High on the success of the first season which regaled one and all to their heart’s content, the show will see Sharman Joshi, Asha Negi, Priya Banerjee, Manit Joura, Sahil Shroff, Anuj Singh Duhan, Abhishek Verma and Vikram Singh Chauhan making a much-awaited return to the screen. The digital presence witnessed the cast of the show interact with members of the media and answer their questions. And if that wasn’t enough, fans of the show got the chance to get up close and personal as they interacted with the ensemble cast.

With the rain playing a pivotal role in this drama, the new season showcases the many hardships that go into maintaining a relationship. Audiences are once again set to watch their favourite jodi Sharman Joshi and Asha Negi rediscover their bond and find love through every challenge that life throws at them, as they dream of a future together. 

The press conference started with showcasing the trailer where we see Anuj (Sharman Joshi) working day and night to ensure that they don’t go through any financial crisis. With no time for anything else, Gauravi (Asha Negi) starts to feel lonely and drifts apart from him as she misses the old Anuj she loved. Things take a turn for the worst with a lawyer (Manit Joura) entering their lives to become the third wheel in the relationship leading to more misunderstandings. In search of a miracle, it is Jeetuji Gandhi, played by none other than veteran actor Jeetendra Kapoor, who enters as a ray of hope in Anuj's life. Jeetu Bhai is a veteran in the diamond business who volunteers to partner with Anuj while giving him some much-needed relationship advice. Will Anuj and Gauravi reconcile once again or will they go their separate ways? The wait is just a few days more as viewers will get answers to all their questions in the upcoming season.

I really enjoyed interacting with the media and my fans. Baarish is a story of honest people in love. It is a very relatable, simple, and feel-good kind of story with a bit of drama. It’s perfect for a family binge and I am sure people will love it.”

                                                                                                    Asha Negi quipped, “ In season 2, we have gone a notch higher in terms of story and performances but that essence of sweetness and simplicity is still there. I am really glad that we maintained that simplicity as I personally loved that aspect of the show. We’ve put a lot of effort and love into the second season and I hope that the show goes on to become a huge success.”

An unusual tale between a middle-class girl and a rich businessman, Baarish embraces the ups and downs in life which will strike the right chord with viewers who root for love. The series is slated to air on ALTBalaji and ZEE5 from 6th May.
