'Agneepath' actor Resham Arora on falling off a train and being broke now

In these tested times of fighting COVID-19, everyone is trying their best to stay put and survive through but probably one of the worst-hit breed has been that of actors, who do minor or character roles in films, TV shows or web shows. This situation is worsened when the respective actor is facing any massive expense due to one reason or another.

That is currently the story of actor Resham Arora, a veteran who has done an array of character roles in several films. To give a recall, he played the doctor who treats Mithun Chakraborty in Agneepath, played the jailor in Khuda Gawah and many others. Currently, he is without work, broke and trying to keep up with medical expenses.

Talking about it with ETimes, Arora said, “There is absolutely no work for me. This has been the state ever since the lockdown began. While people say 'cheezein khul rahi hai (things are opening up now)', I still don't see sufficient work opportunities available.”

Talking about an unfortunate accident he experienced, he said, “I fell off a train a couple of years ago, and then was bitten in the leg by some strange insect at a shoot for Ashwini Dheer's show 'Chidiya Ghar', which hindered my movement for some time. Being in a precarious condition, tragedy further struck me when my wife's eyesight started deteriorating; she contracted acute glaucoma. I am seriously in need of work. CINTAA (Cine & TV Artistes Association) has helped me a bit but that's definitely not enough to keep us in good condition. I am broke. I need financial aid."

The senior actor is dealing with the adversity and uncertainty of life in showbiz, but he’s hoping that his peers from the film industry will help revive his career and turn his misfortune around.

We do hope he gets help and is able to be back on track soon.
