After Dhanush, Nayanthara's documentary gets sued by makers of Chandramukhi

Nayanthara’s documentary on Netflix, Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale is having more than its expected share of troubles. It seems one more filmmaker has objected against the use of content without proper permission. This time reports are coming that the makers of the Tamil movie Chandramukhi have filed a lawsuit against the producers of the documentary for using clips from their film without seeking any permission or approval. Nayanthara played the role of Thurga in the Rajinikanth and Jyothika movie.

It seems the legal notice has alleged that the documentary violates the copyright laws. They have demanded that Nayanthara and Netflix immediately take down the clips. The documentary is an insight into the life of Nayanthara, one of the top Tamil actresses. Now, married to Vignesh Shivan she has had one of the best careers in the industry. In the documentary, friends like Nagarjuna discuss how Nayanthara was demoralised when she was seeing a top star.

The news of Chandramukhi makers filing a lawsuit was shared by actor Chitra Lakshman who provides movie updates on YouTube. As per Lakshman, the makers of Chandramukhi are unhappy with certain scenes that are shown in the documentary. The Netflix project has details of their dream wedding in Mahabalipuram as well.

Lakshman has said that the makers have sent a legal notice to Nayanthara and Netflix on copyright violation. But the producers have denied the same saying that they gave her permission to use whatever clips she wanted. Just after the release of the documentary, Dhanush filed a legal suit against her for using footage from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. That movie brought Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara together as friends. She replied with a lengthy letter where she called him a nepo product and said he was exploitative and mean behind his humble façade. The matter dragged on for few days with fans of both stars trolling one another.
