Honestly speaking everyone's opinion is different and it doesn't matter about religion. A man just can't come up to a girl and slap her. Firstly why are you looking at her. Islam tells you to have haya and lower your gaze and that is a way of parda from a man's side. Don't know what religion the man believes ij but I don't think any religion says go beet up women. Especially Islam. Ppl who say it does in places. Stop taking everything literally and go beyond into the meaning and stories behind it and also to understand the verses in the quran just don't look at one verse. You have to look at the content around the whole story time period reasons and limitations.

That man should be punished for his totally inappropriate and out of line actions towards Gauahar! Nobody has the right to police anyone else's attire. Also, clearly he was the one having impure thoughts seeing her, so he should work on fixing his own mindset instead of shamelessly crossing the line the way he did.
