Actor Anoop Menon weds long time friend

Actor, screen writer and lyricist Anoop Menon tied the knot with his long time friend Shema Alexander Saturday morning.

He announced the news of his wedding through his facebook page.

"Getting married to my long time friend Shema Alexander today morning 7.30 am at my home...you all have been the pillars of support all through my life...humbly seeking your blessings and prayers...love you all...," he posted Saturday.

Present on the occasion were close relatives from the two families.

Menon began his acting career on television and after moving on to the big screen in 2002, he has so far acted in 59 films. In 2014 he had five releases.

For Alexander, this was her second marriage. Her first husband passed away following a heart attack eight years back.

According to Menon's post on facebook, he has been close friends with Alexander for a while.

Popular actress Swetha Menon is his cousin.
