Actor and Politician Sunny Deol has been granted Y-category security by the Central government. The security upgrade comes days after he spoke in favor of the new but controversial farm laws said officials on Wednesday.

An NDTV report suggests that he would now have 11 personnel, including two commandos and policemen, always with him.

The introduction of new farm laws has provoked massive protests from farmers, mostly from Punjab and Haryana.

The actor Tweeted about the same taking a rather diplomatic stance amongst the farmers and government. He also mentioned that some were trying to instigate trouble and the matter should be kept between the farmers and government. Sunny is a Member of Parliament from Gurdaspur in Punjab.

"I know that many people want to take advantage of the situation and are creating problems. They are not thinking of farmers. They may have their own agenda. I stand with my party and farmers and will always be with farmers. Our government always thinks of the betterment of farmers and I am sure that the government will ensure the right outcome after holding talks with farmers," Sunny Deol tweeted.

After Sunny's tweet, his father Dharmendra, posted: "I am extremely in pain to see the suffering of my farmer brothers. Government should do something fast."

On the other hand, many celebs are being divided over the new but controversial farm laws. Actor Kangana Ranaut and singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh have had bitter Twitter exchanges over the issue.

He’s just making cheap and pathetic attempts to stay relevant. His time is done. No one cares about him or his shitty acting anymore.
