Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan has finally received his made-to-order Tramezza shoes from Italian luxury brand Salvatore Ferragamo. He is the first Indian actor to own a pair.

Abhishek had visited Palazzo Spini Feroni, the historic Florentine headquarters of Salvatore Ferragamo in Italy, in January this year as part of the 'Shoes for a Star' project. He received the special pair in Mumbai Wednesday.

The 35-year-old, who recently became the father to a baby girl, chose a pair of hand stitched Tramezza shoes, with a combination of black patent on the wing tip and details and black caif upper, said a press statement.

In the years to come, Abhishek's 'shoe last' will be exhibited at the Salvatore Ferragamo museum in Florence, alongside other precious shoe lasts and shoes from stars and celebrities like Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Sofia Loren, Madonna and Drew Barrymore.

GQ India was a partner on the Ferragamo-Abhishek initiative.

Che Kurrien, editor GQ India, said: 'This initiative highlights the growing influence of Indian men on the international fashion scene. As a past winner of 'The Ultimate GQ Man' award, Abhishek was a natural choice for the project - and of course, as my team will testify, the man really knows his shoes.'
