Abhishek Banerjee Shares Whether Jana Will Return in Upcoming Maddock Cinematic Universe Horror-Comedy Films

Abhishek Banerjee, who plays the lovable and quirky character Jana, has been a significant part of Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe. Known for his roles in Stree, Bhediya, and Munjya, Jana has become a fan favorite. Recently, in an interview, Abhishek was asked whether his character would appear in the new films being introduced by Maddock Films, including Thama, Shakti Shalini, Chamunda, and others. The actor shared an exciting yet mysterious response.

In his interview with Bollywood Hungama, Abhishek revealed, "In Stree, Bhediya, and Munjya, the audience has seen Jana, and about the other projects, well, let's just say Jana Bhooton aur Daanavo ka favorite hai toh Kuch bhi ho sakta hai" (Jana is a favorite of ghosts and demons, so anything can happen). His answer left fans intrigued, hinting that there could be surprises ahead for the character of Jana in upcoming films.

Jana, a simple man with an unusual ability to attract ghosts and demons, made his debut in the 2018 hit Stree. The character quickly gained popularity, contributing to the success of Maddock's supernatural films. As the cinematic landscape of India continues to evolve, Maddock Films is expanding its horror-comedy universe, which includes both existing franchises and new films.

Maddock Films’ upcoming releases, including Thama, Shakti Shalini, and Chamunda, are expected to take this genre to new heights. In another conversation, director Amar Kaushik shared that initially, he had wanted to cast Abhishek in Stree, but Abhishek was keen to play the role of Bittu, eventually played by Aparshakti Khurana. Kaushik convinced Abhishek to take on Jana, a decision that the actor is now grateful for.
