Abhijeet Bhattacharya booked for molestation

A 34-year-old woman has filed a police complaint against Abhijeet Bhattacharya. In her complaint she has accused the singer of touching her inappropriately and also for abusing and threatening her. A case of molestation has been registered.

But, the police have said that before taking any action they will be recording the statements of the witnesses.

According to sources, the incident took place at around 10 pm on Wednesday at Lokhandwala Durga Puja celebrations in which the singer is among the organisers. It was during a concert of singer Kailash Kher there that the mishap took place.

The reports further states that, a huge argument broke between the woman and Abhijeet as she was blocking the view of others watching the concert. Later on, the woman was escorted out of the venue by security guards and she then went to the police station and filed a complaint of molestation.

However, the 56 year-old singer has denied harassing the woman and has defended himself on his social media account today, in response to a supportive comment by Censor Board member Ashok Pandit.

According to Abhijeet, he only had an argument with the woman, whose uncle is also among the organisers of the Durga Puja celebrations.
