In a recent interview, Aamir Khan's chartered accountant CA Bimal Parekh shared insights into the financial acumen of Bollywood stars. While discussing the financial habits of Aamir Khan and Ranbir Kapoor, the accountant revealed that despite their stardom, their financial strategies may differ significantly.
In a revealing interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Parekh discussed the financial habits of Aamir Khan and Ranbir Kapoor, noting a surprising lack of focus on finances. Parekh bluntly stated, "They don't understand money."
Katrina Kaif is the sharpest. She takes an interest. Aamir and Ranbir are not that bothered! Then Ritesh Sidhwani and Krishna DK (of Raj-DK director duo) are sharp as well, they understand money

In addition, Parekh discussed the implementation of Aamir Khan's no-upfront-fee strategy, which he had initially proposed to the actor. He explained that they were the first to introduce the full backend formula for Aamir Khan, with no upfront fee but profit sharing. He added that this approach ensured that both the studio (Viacom 18) and Aamir Khan could generate income, though Aamir's profits from "Laal Singh Chadha" were relatively small.
He went on to say that Aamir Khan did make money from "Dangal." He stated that they began implementing this approach when everyone else was charging upfront fees. Aamir had casually revealed that he charged lower fees to prevent his producers from incurring losses. Parekh was surprised and recommended that a more effective approach would be to not charge a fee and instead take a backend cut.
Earlier, Aamir himself had opened up at the ABP Live summit about not charging any money for "Laal Singh Chaddha." “I never received any money for Laal Singh Chaddha as it didn’t do well at the box office. I never get paid until the film makes any profit… I don’t regret it either. If the film has not worked well, it is on me to take the responsibility for it."
Aamir continued, “I don’t charge money day wise. However, some artistes do charge for the number of days they are allocating for a film. They have nothing to do with the success or failure of the film, which I think is a professional approach but I can’t let my producer suffer for my creatives."
