Waaris is the story of Two landowners, brothers - Charan and Jagan, own most of the farmland in Gaguwal. The two of them slowly become two bitter enemies. Both men have children but Charan the elder son has no male heirs, while Jagan has one son. Their mother Deena, being a traditional woman declares that the business will be handed over to Jagan if Charan doesn't have a son. An incident takes place which leads to a bloody fight where Charan is killed. In the midst of this tragedy, Charan's wife gives birth to a girl and she declares that her baby is a boy and names her Waaris. So begins the story of Waaris, a girl who was brought up as a boy.
