Rahul Bose is an Indianactor, screenwriter, director, rugby player, and social activist., He was born in a well-to-do family in Kolkata., He was interested in sports and acting even as a child. In a school play, he led a play performing the role of Tom, The Pipers Son., Rahul wanted to pursue his graduation from America, but got rejected from everywhere he applied., Disappointed, but not disheartened, he enrolled himself with Sydenham College in Mumbai., While pursuing his graduation, he took part in Rugby. Rahul also participated in Western India Championships, bagging a silver laurel in boxing., A tragedy hit the Bose family when Rahuls mother passed away when he was only 20., After this, Rahul worked in a TV signal distribution company called Rediffusion as a copywriter., He got the first push in his acting career as a theatre artist in 1989 with a theatre play titled, Topsy Turvey., His other notable theatre works were Are there Tigers in the Congo?, Art, The Square Circle, and Seascape with Sharks and Dancer., Rahul began with his filming career with 1994 Hinglish film, English, August enacting the role of Agastya Sen., Next, he bagged the role Sarkar/Pavan in TV serial A Mouthful of Sky., Rahul Bose later bagged significant roles in films such asBomgay, Bombay Boys, Split Wide Open, Mr. and Mrs. Iyer, Pyaar Ke Side Effects, Chain Kulii Ki Main Kulii, and The Japanese Wife., After making a considerable space for himself as an actor in the industry, he tried his hand at directorship.
