Govinda lives in New Zealand and Urmila studies in New Zealand. They meet and fall in love. Govinda comes on a visit to India. He meets Nagma who wants to commit suicide because she is pregnant and her lover has deserted her. To save her, Govinda pretends to be her husband. Nagma's father is Om Puri who is a very hot-tempered thakur who beleives in traditions. Govinda faces three problems. First he has to convince Urmila, who is Nagma's younger sister that he is not Nagma's husband. Second to convince Om Puri for their marriage and thirdly, to find Nagma's lover.
