Shaurya is a fascinating character. I love his junoon. We can see the effort that goes into writing his character. And most of the times, he behaves in sync with how he has been depicted since the beginning.
He never strays from his character sketch. There are no sudden surprises. We were angry and upset when he left Mehek during their wedding. But were we really shocked? No. because it was kind of expected of him. Every scene, big or small, always keep's Shaurya's flaws and strengths in clear focus.
We don't see him breaking into a dance or singing platitudes to Mehek which would be ridiculous to watch.
But i wish i could say the same about Mehek. I wish i could say that after all these episodes, i know Mehek as a character. She's shown strong in one episode and in the next one she's crying buckets of tears. She's shown as a woman who fights her own battles to one who gives up easily. She's shown to love Shaurya with everything that she has and then she gives up the love for her family. She's shown to speak her mind and then she's shown as a mute spectator.
So who is Mehek really?
This show is about Shaurya and Mehek but these days, all i see is the tashan between Shaurya and chachi. Where is Mehek? She's like a lifeless doll that is being pulled and pushed around. If the makers do not wish to unite the couple so soon, then it's okay. But the track should focus on the lead couple and not on a side character by suddenly giving her negative shades.
Give Mehek some life. She has a mind of her own. She's capable of thinking for herself. Everything doesn't have to be about her parivaar. Give her some strength and some courage. Give her a voice.
And for god's sake please stop making her run away like a coward.
