Hamza Ali Abbasi is a Pakistani actor, model and film director. He is best known for his debut in drama serial Pyarey Afzal in which he did the role of Afzal.[3] He is also known for his character as Azam in drama serial Meray Dard Ko Jo Zuban Miley. He started his acting career from theatre play Dally in the Dark in 2006 which was Shah Shahrahbeel's production. While in filmography he made his debut in a short film Glorious Resolve (2010), a direction of Bilal Lashari. In 2013, he appeared in feature films of Pakistani Cinema, Main Hoon Shahid Afridi and Waar[1] for which he received Best Star Debut Male and Best Supporting Actor at 1st ARY Film Awards, respectively.

Hamza studied film making in the United States and came back to Pakistan to pursue his career.He started his career in 2006 as a Theatre actor and appeared in several plays such as Bombay Dreams, Phantom of the Opera and Home is Where Your Clothes Are. His directorial debut is a feature film Mud House and the Golden Doll which he describes is a simple story about simple people.[5] He voiced Baba bandook, the main antagonist and Vadero Pajero in the Unicorn Black production animated series, Burka Avenger.[6] His recent appearances are in the films Main Hoon Shahid Afridi and Waar.

Thanks for sharing. One correction though. He did not study filmmaking in USA. He studied political science. He doesn't have formal training in filmmaking at all. He considers the 4 years he spent on Waar with Bilal his filmmaking education.

His mother wasn't keen on him joining entertainment industry. She comes from a political family in Multan and was worried what will she tell them about her son's career 😆

So on her insistence he cleared CSS (yes, same exams that Kashaf cleared in ZGH) and went into police. Only to leave it soon after because films were his real passion.

Probably he is the only Pakistani actor who did CSS😆. I read his name in some CSS forum in the list of people who resigned from government services, many others joined media but Hamza is the only actor I think.
His sister is a famous dermatologist too

Yeah he is very close to her. Considers her the closest person to him. The only one who encouraged him to follow his real passion. Reminds me of Afzal's bond with Arifa.
