It's story is not something very out of ordinary. In fact most stories aren't. You will find similarities in stories from all over the world. The beauty of this drama is its treatment, acting, and most importantly, dialogues. It has to be seen to be enjoyed. Just reading the story is robbing yourself of it, trust me.
Btw he does great parodies too. This video where he does parody of Imran Khan and Musharraf always cracks me up 😆

India might be going ga ga over the hot import Fawad Khan. However, back home in Pakistan Humayun Saeed Ansari is a bigger star... ahem not just an acclaimed actor he is a heavyweight producer too. Of course, as some of his serials like Ijazzat and Izzat have already been aired on Zindagi, he has become a familiar face if not a household name in India too, a fact that gives him great happiness.Recognition in India means a whole lot to this artiste who practically grew up on a staple diet of Bollywood and its stars. He says, "Bollywood is so much in our blood... it's almost like a habit." While he almost preens "Your stars are our stars too", what he doesn't like is comparison with Bollywood, rather the aspersion that Pakistani films copy Bollywood style. He finds such assertions downright ludicrous and irksome. Each time a film of his is ready for release the rumours go around"oh this is a Pakistani Chak De or Jawani Phir Nahi Ani is a take-off on Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.
He adds, "Only when they see the film they realise that the content and the storyline is very much Pakistani in ethos."
Indeed, cinema in Pakistan has started to look up only recently. Till not too long ago few girls cared or dared to act in Pakistani films. If today more films are being made it's all thanks to television cast and crew and daring men like him who are ready to invest in rather mercurial business of making movies.
Television is certainly the big brother there and drama their biggest strength. That's why he feels Pakistani filmmakers should never try the Bollywood song and dance routine for they won't ever get it right. What they do get bang on is close to life, realistic treatment in their serials.
Without batting an eyelid he nods, "Ninety per cent of what you see in Pakistani serials is what happens in reality, only it is seasoned with dramatic flourishes." High on make-up, glamour, style and much more, the grand Indian soaps in comparison do seem larger-than-life to him. And till his visits to India became more frequent, he chuckles, "I thought that's how people lived and behaved in India."
But mind you he doesn't deride Indian television. Nor is he against Bollywood films being released in his country. "As long as Pakistani films get enough screens, especially around Eid ul Fitur and Bakra Eid when competing against Salman or SRK starrer becomes difficult... I have no issues. "
Be it exchange of artistic forms or artistes between India and Pakistan... he is all for it. He quizzes, "If casting a Hollywood actor does not raise any eyebrows why should anyone object to cross-border collaboration."
Fawad's sensational debut in film world here surprises him as much as gladdens his heart. Humayun too was seen in Mahesh Bhatt's film Jashnn. Right now nothing more is on the platter. But he, who brought Indian and Pakistani actors together in mega serial Ana, is envisaging another project, perhaps a film, where he could once again team up talents of both countries.
Meanwhile, he remains besotted by many an Indian film DDLJ, Parindey and not to forget the latest Piku, Tanu Weds Manu Returns and Dil Dhadakne Do. One day he hopes Pakistan too can come up with its own version of Dil Dhadakne Do and right now it certainly can make character driven-films like Tanu Weds Manu... minus the songs of course.
Till that happens he wants you to clue into what they are best at...Ruswayian that stars him as an actor and Pyare Afzal in which the producer in him is in the driving seat. By the way he also promises that Indians will fall head over heels for Hamza Ali Abbasi, the lead actor in his home production.
