I have just seen the first 2 epis of Humsafar a long time back, but Fawad made quite an impression on me and yeah u r so right abt his parents being selfish and since I just saw 2 epis., I know Asher gets emotionally blackmailed into marrying coz of his father. And from the looks of it, it was obvious tht his mom was gonna make his marraige difficult nd guess dat's exactly what happened!

Can't wait to watch Humsafar. BTW any idea whn it's gonna air? Someone sd by end of dis year!😲 If dat's d case den I might as well watch it online.

ohh u welcome.. Humsafar is a very beuatiful journey , especially people who enjoy love stories will love this show. Fawad has been tremendous in the show esp his post leap scenes, and similary Mahira gave her best to khirad. the best part of the show is that at the end, you cannot hate anyone, not even the psycopathic other woman or evil mom, because everyone becomes so helpless and hopeless at the end including Asher. the director did an amazing job...

Asher indeed is an iconic character .. lemme explain Asher more, becaus ei feel he is the character of the show which has the most intensity and depth inside him.

he was a ideal man, a n ideal son, husband, friend and father, he was so much perfect that his perfection ruined his own life. He always had the tendency to keep others happy, supress his own feelings to make others stay happy, even a smile from sarah, khirad or his mother, Asher would forget what he was going thru, thats how Asher was. And thats why his most closed ones played with his weakness, they backstabbed him. As he was such an innocent soul, he also had the fear of losing out khirad due to his own monotonous and reserved nature, he was not the typical romeo, never the hearthrob kind of personna while khirad was just like a princess and externally very impressive with her lively nature, and thus his mother and sara played with his weakness..

Hardly we find men like him, whose loyality does not have any boundary, whose ego and self respect falls short in front of his love. How beautiful was the moment when he justifies himself in front of the mirror, that he still loves khirad and wants to go back to her no matter if she has betrayed him and made him feel like a loser. I mean its very easy to repent and ask for the love back after knwoing the truth, but Asher was different, he thought his past was what it was, but at present he could see Khirad's struggles, the way he loved her, he could see how his life has no menaing without his wife and daughter, he needed them, and no he does not need hareem only, yes he is probably the best father in the world, but he could also give hareem back to khirad if khirad would want her custody.

He is the man who despite of being at no fault, goes to sara, asks for forgiveness, that he could not love her, that scene was so heartbreaking especially when Asher says that he does not love anybody, it was torturous from both sara and his end because sara inspite of trying every possible way out couldn't make Asher fall for her, and Asher after living a life of isolation, an abandonment 9 from his POV ) still hopelessly loved khirad. He did not know how he could make sara happy and get his best friend back, but he tried, he wanted her to be happy, no matter if her mother and she cursed him which he thought was rightfully done. He never allowed sara or even his mother to bitch about Khirad, no matter if khirad was proven characterless, Asher never gave anybody, the privilege to talk about it, dishonor the lady he ever loved so much. similary when khirad comes back he maintains the same rules.

Lastly, he was the bets son of two of the most selfish parents. His father forced him into the marriage only to prove his brotherhood, okayyy.. Asher did it, and later even fell for khirad , and wanted to keep it happy with her when his mother plays her tricks..even at the end, he sees his mother's mental condition and accepts her in that way, could not abandon her, how could he , he is Asher Hussain afterall . Khirad herself was put in a state of shock and disbelief when Asher says that " apni maa or biwi mei se kisi ek ko chunna hota tou main apni maa ko chuntaa " ..

I loved all his scenes, but my most favorite scenes has to be :-

a) 20th episode, his and sara's last scene together... both Naveen and Fawad, the chemistry, the intensity, everything was bang on. i loved Asher more after this scene..

b) Hospital scene, when he tells khirad that how he failed to hate her, and wnats to take her far away from all the happenings of their lives.. again Fawad was fabulous and the OST makes it so much more intense.

c) Asher's breakdown in the park.. 22nd episode.. Fawad at his best.. enuff said.

d) 11th episode, when Asher burges into the kitchen and sees khirad with khizar.. the worst moment of his life probably but still the numbness, the heartbreak, the hopelessness, everything was so evident.

e) confrontation between Asher and his mom in the last episode. claps for both Atika and Fawad.hatts off to the dialogue writer ..

PS:- i wrote an essay i guess, bear with me as i am a huge Asher deewani, so could not stop myself.

Wonderful analysis.

Asher is indeed a perfect man. He tried to make everyone happy. His near and dear one's are everything for him. His love for Khirad knows no limit. In 21 episode he says u were not only my wife, u were my love and my life. That was Asher.

For me best Asher scene was the climax. The questions he raised there is applicable for all who mistreats women and their dignity. The was he said Khirad does not need to prove her chastity. Though the actress played his mother's role was superb I cannot look at her because I always mesmerized by Asher's words whenever I watch the scene. When Khirad cursed him for not being present there when she gave birth to their daughter I felt for Khirad. But I cannot hate Asher. Everytime he cried our heart wrenched for him.

such a beautiful analysis of both the shows...loved it
i have watched both the shows and i just loved both of them to bits..
ZGH was completely a new flavour to all of us and we will deffo like it but humsafar though the story was very familiar and used in many shows still this remains a masterpiece atleast for me..

because in many shows i have seen the lead trying to prove her innocence in such cases by planning something and gets the truth out but this is not like that. khirad just simply writes a letter believing that her husband will trust her and that what happens atlast asher believes her just by reading the letter and will try to find any clues to inquire whether it is corrrect or not but all the proofs comes across him accidentally this shows the trust they have in them...

khirad never wanted to be back to asher after he abandons her and was not even ready to accept him even when he said he forgave her that really made me feel bad for asher. he was ready to accept her with all those marks on her character shows how much he loves her and the way she rejects shows how much her love has been insulted and hatred replaced her love.. i dont think he hated him too that was all the anger frustration she was having since years on him..

the last scene where he questions his mom was just outstanding.. he supported his wife but at the same time he said he would have chosen his mom instead of his wife if she asked him to do so than doing all this.. this shows how much he loves his mom and trusts her and thats what everyone does. we just blindly trust our parents and thats what he did but his mom betrayed him..

the way he apologises to khirad and asks her to be with him as he cant live without her anymore was just awesome and the way khirad confesses that she was tired of living alone and fighting alone shows how much they missed each other and the epic scene at the end where he removes the pin from her hair is so cute romantic and just makes us smile and love them even more...

just waiting to watch it officially on zindagi..

Khirad did no try to prove her innocence that makes her character so dignified. She wanted nothing in her life except respect, trust and love. She vented out in front of her MIL that she does want to talk to her son because she thinks he does not deserve to be her husband.

The climax scene was superb. Those questions are not for his mother its for all who disrespects women and their dignity. FK's acting was out of the world. He gave life to those words.

The best part about Khirad was how she never proved her innocence.. she never gave Asher that satisfaction, she didn't care if he had sleepless nights after he chose not to believe her thinking he had read the letter..
