When one thinks of what the small screen has been offering, you cannot think anything beyond the never-ending daily soaps or reality shows. With the kind of channels that are coming up, people just think of benefiting from these shows in the name of TRP. Nobody can play the blame-game here because these programs are sustaining only because people are watching; but it is a million dollar question if the audience is really enjoying and getting what they want because they are so habituated to watching TV that they don't have a choice but be glued to TV.
But choices with each and every individual differs wherein a home-maker may prefer a daily soap over a reality show and her pati dev may prefer a reality show and her children would tune in for cartoon shows and so and so forth. We do realize that most of us are in a fast-forward-mode wherein we don't have the time or patience to regularly catch up on one particular show. Hence most of us opt for reality shows which do the needful of giving entertainment every time without having the need to watch regularly. And this has been evident in the TRPs of these shows.

There was one stage where there was an over-dose of these reality shows and people chose daily soaps or just wanted something new; after all we are human-beings and everyone needs change at a certain level. The reality shows have become a pass with en number of channels coming up with umpteen number of reality shows. And just when we were under that impression we did realize that we were wrong…
It so happened that Malaika Arora Khan, the gorgeous judge of the dance reality show, Zara Nachke Dikha, was flooded with compliments when she recently attended a wedding and bumped into the renowned Deshmukh family. Their eldest son shared his feedback with Malaika on how their entire family is hooked on to watching reality shows. There was also a discussion about the new formats that the reality shows offer. And what caught our interest was that Maharashtra's Honorable Chief Minister Mr. Vilasrao Deshmukh also agreed to the same.
Well, a busy man like CM tuning into these show….we couldn't agree more. It is quite obvious and we do realize that there is still audience left who enjoy reality shows.
