Well I don't know if they will show it like this but yes this could have been final threshold which would make Puchki stand up finally for herself !

If he had accepted her like this and all hunky dorky.. it would not have been justice to the sacrifice and trials she has gone through.. It would have taken Shaan to do something bigger and brutal to turn her love into her hatred.. Probably this could be it... I hope they don't show her trying to find Shan's reason for this act.. but focus on what he has done..and then move on and let him suffer .. and prove her saying right... that time will come when he will miss her and she will not be there in life... I agree that Shan had his compulsions but he rightly said so he is weak person.. and he needs to really prove that he is worthy of Puchki too... I for once wish that Shan comes out of Abla naari roop .. and stop playing victim .. But thank God Asmita is out of this mess.. I hope she remains out till this abla naari grow some spine .. and turn into her Shantanu... 😳

Had so many complaints with episodes too but leave it.. after so long I am posting on the episode... so maaf kiya

I like that moment too when Shan stops Ravinder Majumdar from going near Puchki when she slaps him.. it was like .. Sir this is between us.. let it be ..

Puchki needed that outburst.. finally !!

You said it all..Asmita's outburst was the main point of todays episode and the most important one..there were many things which could have been better in today's Epi...but Asmita's monologue was soo good to watch the slap her prediction and her stand...that as you said the rest is forgiven and forgotten..

Shan was never an abla nari. He's doing all this because he so desperately wants the majumdar name and nivi's affection over than his real mother's love. If he simply said that he can't accept being a part of a family who has no respect for his mother, keeps him separated from his mother and don't care about his happiness and desires, then just leaves, it would be easy and he could be with the people who love him unconditionally, respect him and would do anything for him, instead of running after the love of people who only have conditions or hatred for him. But no! He can break off ties with his mother and puchki who love him dearly and truly, but not break off ties with majumdar family just because he wants the name and respect linked with being a majumdar rather than the defamation of being linked with sonagachi.

He could leave that house, take puchki and his mother along with him and start a new life away from sonagachi and majumdar's, but instead he wants to stay in that hell hole where he gets no love, just materialistic things like money, luxury, status and name, whilst putting up with hatred and humiliation from his so-called high-status family just to keep all that materialist stuff. How can you feel sorry for him?

Sammy, I agree that Shan is so desperate for the Majumdar name and Nivi's love that he is willing to put up with any amount of hatred and humiliation. It's hard to sympathize with him when he chooses to not walk away from all this.

But if I try to put myself in his shoes though, I can see where his sense of gratitude and obligation to Nivi and the Majumdars comes from. The fact is that Shan is still unaware of what happened 20 years ago.He doesn't know about Nivi threatening Puchki when she came behind him at the airport that she would kill him if Puchki remained in contact with him. He doesn't know about all the dirty games played behind his back. According to him, the education, name, position, and everything that makes him what he is has come from the Majumdars. And to add to that, Chanda had made him give her a kasam to stay away from her and the people of Sonagachi before being adopted. (If she had not done that, Shan may not have turned out to be so obsequious to the Majumdars, but the fact is Chanda herself looked down upon Sonagachi and the people of Sonagachi to the extent that she wanted her son to break all of his relations there).

This was when Nivi had taken him in and given him a mother's love. It's true that she changed completely after finding out that he is the illegitimate son of Arindham but we cannot deny that Nivi had initially accepted Shan even after knowing that he is from Sonagachi. So in a way, Shan has always felt and has even vocally expressed how the Majumdars took him in when he was "abandoned" by his own. He is also guilty for Ridoy's handicap and the fact that he and his mother Chanda are a constant reminder to Nivi of his dad's betrayal. I can't blame Shan for feeling the way he does because sadly, he's still that little boy who found a mother in Nivi and a family in the Majumdars when he had no one else. This is why Shan just cannot fathom Nivi being a criminal because he just knows a benevolent woman that was wronged by her husband, had to accept his illegitimate son, and see her own son become a handicap who is constantly slighted because of it. Shan sympathisizes with Nivi and rightfully so. I also think that Nivi is entitled to hold a grudge for all the injustice she has had to tolerate. However, the injustice she has had to tolerate is no excuse for her to become a psychotic criminal that plots, kidnaps, tortures, and murders people for her own gain.

As a result, everything that Puchki has done for Shan and continues to do for him may be enough for him to love and respect her, and hurt himself in return for wronging her. However, it is certainly not going to be enough for him to rebel against the Majumdars. For that, he needs to discover the entire truth (Nivi's true face) and when that day comes, his breakdown/guilt are going to be much greater than today's without a doubt. I hate to justify Shan at all because I loathe his actions and behavior with Puchki, but I can't help but point out all these things because I do understand the reasons for his behavior. After all, Shan is the way he is today only because of the upbringing of his family members and the umpteen kasams has had to nibhaoay all these years. The poor boy has never been able to do what he wanted; it was all about what others wanted for him, be it getting adopted, breaking old relations, turning into a rich, entitled jerk who has forgotten his own roots, etc, etc. I really think he is the embodiment of geeli mitti being molded in whichever way possible by the people around him.

The one positive thing is that the guy has a conscience and at least acknowledges that he has been a loser, a broken man, and a puppet all his life. The fact that he acknowledges that he is a weak person who is unable to maintain the vows of friendship and love unlike Puchki shows that his redemption will soon begin, and I am looking forward to it. And yes, I do believe that Shan is worthy of forgiveness even after today if he works hard for it in the future because the man's harsh act in front of the family wasn't even half as harsh as those of the angry MLs in other ITV shows.

I don't know if I was the only one who felt this way but there were many cracks in his facade and he had still tried to be as gentle as he could while still being harsh. Shan kept Sir and others from interfering in his fight with Puchki, took her slap without uttering even a word because he knew that he deserved it, and let his tears drop the very moment that Puchki left.

Shaan is an emotional person and is highly loyal by nature

Nivi has exploited this charcater of his to hilt by emotionally blackmailing him from childhood

Further Arindam told him to keep Nivi happy and forget Chanda and sonagachi

So from childhood shaan has been taught to behave in certain manner by majumdars

Only when shaan knows arnindam was kidnapped by nivi will he change that too not much

He will still love ridoy and sacrifice for him till ridoy does not harm asmita

Only than his love for ridoy will reduce too i mean blind love

I can see your pov, but at present his weak mind is so disgusting & revolting that I simply don't want to understand his psyche. Agreed, he doesn't know the many ugly truths about Nivi but he does know how truthful & loyal a friend Puchki is, doesn't he? And such a friend has been warning him time & again, from the beginning when they were kids till now about Nivi & he doesn't even give her the benefit of the doubt? What type of friendship is that & here I'm so angry at Asmita too that she is wasting her friendship, love, loyalty & all the higher emotions on a weakling who doesn't deserve it.

I agree with @bs123 POV on Shaan, when I had seen Mahaepisode precap , I thought I will end up hating him more and more but on contrary I felt for him with the episode especially his shower scene and his conscience at play.. He knows it exactly where he stands in this relationship and what he deserves .. apart from that banging wall overdramatic sequence .. I liked his confession of being a weak person out of the two.. Yes we may argue that he could have just ignored Nivi's pleas and desperate attempts for suicide (by God both mom and son are alike in that respect) but considering guilt he owes to them.. first by his mother who has broken Nivi's blissful marriage according to him and then him giving that handicap to Ridoy , he would do everything to not go further on guilt trips considering Nivi does what she intend to do.. He owes it at many level .. and for me what made me feel for him was that he knew he was a puppet in her hand.. Atleast he knew she was using him to fuel whatever she desires like that... Nivi's intention of this would come clear when her kidnapping part is revealed.. People who commit mistakes should have the power to face its consequence and its clear that consequence will be hard for Shantanu.. and I just hope that there is a time when he misses Puchki being around..and her words come true..

Just to add on I feel that Shaan has done favor to Puchki by making her go away from their.. I understand the hurt that Puchki carries now and will love if she hates him.. But then Atleast Shan has made her go away from that toxic relationship with Ridoy.. whatever may be his reasons.. I am happy that Puchki is out of there.. 😆

@ bold: Riti, Do you really think that he realises that Nivi is emotionally blackmailing him & he is being a puppet? I don't think so, I think when Nivi threatened to immolate herself he just agreed to throw Asmita out so that his Mumma who hates everything & everyone about sonagachi doesn't get hurt further by Asmita's presence in the M mansion. I don't think he thought any deeper than just wanting to relieve his Mumma's pain, you probably are giving him too much credit 😆.
I guess this difference in our perception is what made me hate him more when he broke down and you sympathising with him. What do you say?

@tranquilmelody - Well I am yet to watch today's episode so cant say but with Monday's episode and outburst of Shan I felt like his confession of being a puppet of someone gave me strong hopes that he would use his brains to see he is being manipulated by this lady.. with the events that have happened till now.. he has been at this edge several times with his Nivi mom emotional blackmailing him into doing things he wont do otherwise.. right from the time he left for London in childhood.. He has been just used by her and yeah he cud be that dumb to not realise it.. 😆 I agree on that.. But that was not the reason I was sympathetic to him.. His outburst and his acceptance of what he was doing was wrong gave enough satisfaction to me that he will be in guilt trip with regard to Puchki too soon.. and ya partly my happiness at Puchki going away from there resulted in my forgiving him 😆
