1) The follow-up to the "I love you's"....again, it was nice that they kept it simple and conversational....Abir teasingly asked Mishti to repeat what she just said but she's like, "Tumne kuch suna nahin, toh maine kuch kaha bhi nahin".....😆

Then the switch to the solemn....Abir saying that this baat has actually been said and heard many times before....acknowledging that the words themselves were a formality by this point since they had both expressed it many other ways before.

2) When Mishti gets in the mood to praise Abir, he has to switch to playing the joker to diffuse the whole moment....lol the way he switched to calling himself a complete package....from Zoya Akhtar ki movies ka modern outlook + Barjatya movies ke sanksaar + Yash Raj movies ka glamour😆.....and Mishti immediately switched to rolling her eyes at his nautanki instead of staying in her senti zone.....haha

3) Abir-Mishti may be aware that Meenu will try to sabotage them but both of them are avoiding direct discussion and downplaying some things.....like when Abir asked her if his mother had asked her to say all those things....Mishti just brushed it off, not revealing in full detail the level of torture Meenu inflicted on her....and Abir himself is hiding from Mishti the fact that Kunal ditched Kuhu at the shaadi and ran away.....lol

4) Despite all this, Abir atleast is most focused on the fact that their love won over Meenu's scheming yet again....lol he's taking heart from that and trying to express the same to Mishti when she feels wary of becoming the cause for tension and tamasha......I liked how Abir was like....hone do naraaz, bigadne do baat.....who cares😆

Another nice set of dialogues in this scene....as Abir talked about people always pointing fingers at them for the path they will choose....moreso at Mishti since she is a girl.....but all the hate in the world ultimately is defeated at the hands of love.....

"ilzaam lagaane waale chaahe hazaaron log ho

agar saath dene wala ek bhi ho na....toh woh hazaaron pe bhaari padta hai"

Basically from this point on, AM have gone into DDLJ mode.....lol ab yeh apno ko JEETENGE jaise Raj ne Bauji ko jeeta tha😆

The thought is noble....but they are dealing with a very unscrupulous lot here😕 so we shall see how it goes....lol

5) The pendant scene....again, a scene that could go a very cliched route turned out surprisingly well....for a couple of reason.....a) Abir gifted her the pendant not just as a token of his love, but as a token of his faith in her and by extension, wanting her to have that same faith in herself.....by gifting her a pendant with a mirror in which she can see herself in any moment of doubt and rise above that self doubt, to instead draw strength from her own self....what a lovely thought.....and b) Abir once again expressing how he marvels over her ability to solve any problem she comes across.....his faith in her bolsters her own faith in herself whenever she experiences doubt.....isn't that what the best version of a partnership can be?

He has so much faith in her ability to solve any problem and she has so much faith in him to do the same....together they lift each other up.

All of this was complimented beautifully by the Saathiya song.....👏

Perfect ! 👏

Loved reading this. Thanks for putting down your thoughts on the ME. I hope the writers continue giving them good scenes and screen time and reduce the annoying Meenu drama to five minutes per episode (also because we can get to read your thoughts more if that happens :D)

Thank you for the kind words :)

@bold: Beautifully said👏.....the way they just absorbed each other's presence for a bit before even saying anything else was another nice touch in the scene. I like the way they have built their equation as a support system and not just a typical one, but a progressive one that challenges gender norms and what is considered "acceptable" or "typical" of either of their genders.

They are in love but much before that, they've committed to supporting each other through thick and thin....and surprisingly, even falling in love hasn't changed that.....in many cases it does....cuz love brings a different set of expectations than friendship.

Let's see how Abir-Mishti navigate that.....they are already going into this with a high bar for each other....Abir has demonstrated tremendous trust and faith in Mishti even in the face of horrible situations.....Mishti herself is surprised to see that someone can have that much faith in her against all odds....it's likely this faith will be tested again and again given the long list of ungrateful people in their lives. Let's see if they can stay the course and win over everyone as Abir is so optimistically hoping😆

Oh, I think we interacted maybe once or twice? My other account was Black_Maniac something. I wasn't very frequent so I don't think you'd actually recall.

Yes, they are very different that way. The equation they share is so beautiful. They almost always have a gender-reversal with general ITV tropes and it is endearing to watch.

I know! Admitting love to one another usually changes the equation but I guess they won't have that because a part of them has already known for a long while?

Along with Mishti, I am also very surprised with his faith in her given that is so rare, especially since it doesn't contribute to regular drama that ITV shows thrive on.

Yeah, his unwavering trust in her only means they'll have even harder challenges thrown their way. I am pretty excited to see what they plan to give us, since winning over everyone seems a little far-fetched😆

You're welcome ji😆

I actually don't have much hope from the writers in terms of consistency....lol but it's nice if they can manage to give such worthwhile scenes from time to time. 😊

Meenu and KuKu drama is a permanent mainstay in this show😆

Ohh you're Black_Maniac? I do remember your UN now😆....yes, we did interact in a few threads in the IB forum....I guess you used to follow it during the earlier days of Shivika and then left.

@bold: Even if people have known each other a long while as friends, sometimes they aren't able to transition that well into being lovers.....regardless of how close friends you've been, a different set of expectations comes in from being lovers.....what helps in navigating that shift is communication....that is AM's strength.....as long as they can communicate, they can work their way through all shifts in expectations as their relationship evolves.

Abir's faith in Mishti is idealistic.....lol frankly, such people generally don't exist in the world....but for fiction, it's a nice characteristic to put forward in terms of building how a relationship should be....having faith in the face of the worst kind of odds....being someone's rock no matter what storms come your way.

LOL this is a Rajan Shahi show.....the characters will win people over in the short term, then the next second will be some other insecurity drama, then some shaadis, then winning people over again, then rinse repeat😆....so I don't have expectations of any permanent resolution.

You should visit this forum more often. Even i loved that scene where Mishti broke down completely and the way Abir managed to stand her up and later the hug

Thanks for the emoji. They are lovely.

I did follow the show till the leap but ever since those short stories, there wasn't much I could discuss or think about. I guess I was mostly watching because I was so attached to the characters😆

True. The communication is one of their best features and I truly hope they clear all those little things they are currently hiding.

Yeah, he is pretty much about as perfect as the CVs could imagine and his blind faith in Mishti is amazing. They have put out a very perfect character which makes him unreal.

😆Right. They'll keep going in the same loop after a while. And then lots of marriages. Ketki and Atul and maybe some random unknown kid from the past. And all these marriages will bring in a new set of problems for them to navigate through while trying to keep themselves intact. The good thing about the show is Mishti and Abir's unique dynamic. They have had so much more communication than I have seen in all other shows in total. As long as they continue being that way, we are good😆

LOL Ketki and Atul toh baad mein aayenge.....next big phase will be navigating Kunal-Kuhu's marital problems....all of AM's energies will be spent managing their immature, petulant siblings😆 and fixing their marriage issues.....if, and that's a big IF Kunal-Kuhu are ever redeemed and made into semi-tolerable human beings, then they will switch roles and manage whatever issues AM have at some point.....lol and the wheel will keep spinning....kabhi tum cupid, kabhi main cupid blah blah😆.

AM are being shown in a super idealistic manner so it's inevitable that their relationship will falter at some point as well and they may emerge stronger from it.

The show totally switched gears from the earlier episodes where Abir was shown as a wandering soul who didn't seem inclined to settle into marriage.....none of that got explored in more detail....they directly jumped to him being comfortably in love with Mishti (only hiccup was Kunal-Mishti ka rishta in b/w....lol) to now feeling committed to Mishti and being married in all but name. His daddy issues also crop up vaguely only to show a sense of parallel with Mishti.....no real details are given over how that has impacted his own perspective on relationships, commitment etc.....he gives general gyaan on society, gender roles etc. but what of his own perspectives?

Ideally, that should be explored between him and Mishti on a one on one level....but I know it won't.....lol most of the story will go in managing the childish siblings rather than handling their own relationship😆.....their conversation in the mandir was ample hint.....they will be fully focused on managing their misbehaving families for the most part.....lol

They'll definitely show Kunal and Kuhu's arcs as well, making Kunal a more logical fellow if not likeable, the very least. He is always off on a very different tangent. We'll see them going in circles, trying to mend everyone's relationships.

Ah yes that one big blow out where we'll see all the angst between them😆

I am guessing it will be explored when they decide to tell Kunal he isn't Meenu's son? He and Abir have the same dad so that guy probably left them because Meenakshi wss ready to adopt Kunal and he was offended or something that she'd want to remind him of his mistakes? His sadness and wanderer tendencies seemed to vanish because he noe considers Mishti home? He knows a lot about Mishti but Mishti actually knows nothing about his life before he met her. He knows how she thinks but she only knows that he supports and trusts her. She is yet to learn these things and they will hopefully give us that too.

They are going to spend a lot of time winning over their families' belief in their relationship. Sabko manana hai. Convince and charm the Maheshwaris, have long arguments with Meenakshi while also dodging all bullets she shoots. About a week of all the romance we are being given spoilers for and then lots of planning and plotting coming our way😆
