Does trauma justify abusive tendencies? In that case, wouldn't we all be justified in our mis-behaviors as most people have some level of trauma.

When Abhira found out about Armaan's trauma related to previous loss she decided to be more understanding and less argumentative. She tries everything she can to relieve his insecurities and is tolerating a lot of abuse in the process.

Armaan is aware that Abhira has huge insecurities of not being able to connect to the baby and harps on that same point.

At what point can we just say abuse is abuse. He told his mom he didn't realize how wrong he have been towards Abhira (ignorance is a crutch he uses often) and goes right back to doing what he was doing. What type of parent constantly yells at the other and say, I'm not careless like you or only I have behaviors that good parents have and make the other one feel so poorly? He then blames her for the baby having a fever and takes the baby away because the baby is sick. That itself is a very abusive and traumatic experience for any mother.

I think if he's unable to see any wrong doing in his behavior then maybe treatment or separation should be on the table...

Armaan has to be by far worst ML in the show so far! Sometimes I wonder if anyone fan beat Dr. Birla in the toxicity... Armaan takes the whole cake!

I lost out any support for AbhiMaan, if I ever had to begin with, the day he got her licence cancelled!! And on top of it now knowing how desperate was even Abhira for this baby, he has done lots of damage to her but I am quite sure loser Abhira is gonna forgive him as he has traumatic past... This whole trauma giving license one to be rude, pathetic and moronic is still the best card shippers and fans use....

Just that Birlas had whole house filled with lunatics that makes them worse and these Poddars still show humane side across times like flipping here and there but nothing can do undo what Kaveri and Vidhya did to Shivani! Yet, rest of the family members are still tolerable.

Birla pankhis, I won't bother reading your reply...

So the abused became the abuser…. All his life he cried victim of being treated like a stranger in his own house, yet the same person is estranging a mother and her baby. It’s a highly likely possibility that most often than not people who are abused in their childhood become abusers themselves per psychology/psychiatrists, one of the main reasons why doctors explore the childhood of an individual to identify the root cause.

Armaan is one of the worst characters of yeh rishta so far, definitely one of the worst MLs of ITV. His characterization has been consistent so far, he is an escapist who would do everything he wants and when things go wrong will hide behind the facade of childhood trauma. Another thing that’s consistent is he is a gaslighter, who has done all unimaginable things towards others, yet in the end instead of accepting that he is wrong would cry victim. He betrayed his brother, kept leading a girl for almost 1 year, and what he did/does with Abhira is nothing short of cruelty. He is nothing but an attention-seeker and a coward who cries foul anytime someone points out how wrong he is. How is it that in every situation he becomes the victim is definitely beyond logical reasoning. Abhira cannot have children, gets abused/taunted/neglected, yet Armaan is the victim. Ruhi loses her husband, has a small baby with an uncertain future, yet is strong enough to go through the emotional/physical stress of being a surrogate, yet Armaan is the one who is suffering from psychological issues?? Shivani lost her whole life/mental balance yearning for her husband/child, yet Armaan who grew up in the lap of luxury with a whole loving family is the victim because his dadisa didn’t offer him candy and declare him as her favorite. If one looks at everything that has been shown so far, at no point has this character taken responsibility for his actions. What’s the difference between Armaan and Vidya/Dadisa, isn’t he doing the same?, separating a mother and child…. Tomorrow if something happens to the kid he is going psycho for, he will definitely find a scapegoat for that as well, wouldn’t be surprised if he hides behind the dead brother/mother for his actions. The writing is so twisted in this show, the writers never point blank mention that this character is actually wrong, which is why this show is so problematic.

The less said about Abhira the better, lost all sympathy for this character when she ran behind a guy who publicly humiliated her, falsely accused her, destroyed her career and behaved cruelly. Her only redeeming quality is that she’s a genuinely good person who tries to do right by everyone, can’t blame her for that. Abhira is one of those real-life women who are stuck in a marriage with a guy who would abuse you, demean you in daylight in front of others and would cry victim that he had no control over himself and shower love behind closed doors. This is an even more dangerous kind of abuse than the physical abuse, because the actual victim loses their identity completely and starts questioning their own self worth. This is the kind of marriage where one cannot break from, because the victim is made to believe circumstances made the spouse react/abuse them, but generally they have a loving spouse. Even though there’s no hope from this character, let’s see if she at least stands up for her kid.

This was a doomed one-sided relationship from the beginning, the writers have made it very clear that Abhira is never going to be happy with Armaan and every time she goes back to him ends up being treated worse than the last time. What an utterly pathetic character they have made of their FL…

Lol yeah so true. Everyday I think how come Arman gets so much sympathy excuses from people when abhimanyu didn't ... I guess hc couldn't cry prettily or had pretty eyes. Shame on him 😜

If we compare the trauma why not abhira becoming psycho. She pushed a baby between her legs and didn't know for months that her baby was dead. Her husband was the culprit and has the audacity to cancel her license. Before that she lost her mother, the only person she had in world. Then got to know every day the new new drama about her mother. Mental harrassment from Vidya kaveri poddars every day. Fought for her study lawyer work etc. Fought to get Arman. Got to hear from her own family that she can't have baby she must be a lesser woman. Heck that girl had to beg for money once she was out of poddar house. Every 6 months her marriage is at stake where she's close to get divorced again. Lost two people recently. And even after all these she has big heart to stay with everyone love everyone.

And arman lmaooo

Was enjoying head massage from Vidya and next moment like a bipolar hypocrite person makes faces at Vidya. Just the other epi he asked ma main galat kar raha hoon Kya, he uses Vidya to fullest. Pretends he don't like kaveri but yet wants that lady with him. Lost Rohit and Shivani but not even one second he remembers Shivani lmao. Behaved worst with abhira every single day. Shouts at her, says she's not a good mother, she's not fit to be mother etc. always ready to pokes at her weak points. Now behaving like psycho with everyone in poddar house- the elders are afraid of him. What a clown he is. Used ruhi to fullest during pregnancy to the point girl was running away from house at the dead of night. Now again he remembered her cause baby is sick 🤣🤣 not one moment he asked if she's dead or alive after giving birth to his child.

And yet he needs psychiatrist treatment lmaoo. Abhira needs treatment to understand she's in a toxic Stockholm syndrome marriage and divorce his ass.

The writers want the viewers to sympathize with 2 characters who repeatedly show zero growth…

How does the viewer sympathize with Armaan when there’s no difference in the way he treats Abhira and the antagonists of the show treat her. He has basically done everything that Sanjay, KP and Vidya did to Abhira. How can one connect to a character who can never see beyond himself, someone who doesn’t have an ounce of sympathy or regret for a mother who cried her heart out believing her very-alive child is dead; and deprived a mother from seeing her child once and ends up portraying the same woman as a bad mother. Rohit may not be a great character, but at least he was a better brother than Armaan ever was to him, what a selfish man, couldn’t even bother about a child's well-being whom he separated from a mom once he got his own child. Every time when you think this character can’t go any lower than this, the writers astound you with him doing something more despicable than before. Can’t even blame it on the trp because the character has been consistently selfish.

How can the audience sympathize with Abhira who keeps making the same mistake over and over again. How can one connect with her when she refuses to at least acknowledge that what she has isn’t a healthy relationship or at least have a conversation about how she was treated before going back to the same person to only be treated worse. The only emotion an audience can feel for Abhira now is pity. Pity that she has been so conditioned to accept all the emotional abuse in the name of love and family. The writers compromised this character so much after every track that even if Abhira tries to move on, it would be hard to connect or feel anything for her, especially since she forgave the worst of the worst of the whole Poddar clan…
