I do not think this will happen. Giving up easy is not usually abhira's thing. To make matters worse for herself she would probably carry on with the sleuthing on the side.

A doubt here, did Abhira watch Kaveri getting scared after seeing Shivani? I mean did she see Shivani there?

but Armaan feels overwhelmed with guilt and is secretly punishing himself for his past mistakes

i think they are just going to find out that Armaan's mom is alive and not the fact that RK's mom is actually Shivani. This revelation will be a disaster. Armaan won't believe them after the proposal scene. Dadisa will save herself and make them believe that it's all a misunderstanding. And after this seeing Armaan's reaction Abhira will finally stop investigating about his mom further. And then on the divorce hearing she will randomly stumble upon Shivani and Madhav's photo and then reveal her identity infront of everyone with proof this time!!!!
