The words for pride are abhimaan, guroor. Pride can be positive or negatively potrayed. When someone says "tum mera abhimaan ho" or "mera desh mera abhimaan hai" or "mujhe iss baat ka abhimaan hai" it means a positive thing.There are other negative words like ghamand, ahankar etc. If you want to think its "ego", great, good for you.
