I have never written an FF before, but with Abhira finally ending I feel like this is overdue. In my dreams WD didn’t happen. I do think that even with WD had Ak been stronger and fought for the relationship, they could have been together regardless. But I think that Neil was a part of Abhi,and Abhi would never be the same without Neil anyways, nor would Manjari or even Ak. So, this is a what if WD had not happened.
A lazy Sunday morning five years in the future….
The day began like any other, with Abhi wrapped around his Akshu. She had been working hard establishing her music therapy studio and he had to pull a lot of night shifts as well, resulting in them often having to go to sleep without each other. But the mornings were always perfect….at least until the kids burst in and jumped on the bed! Abhir, Aansh and Ruhi jumped on the bed to wake up Abhira. They were all excited for the day to begin. It was the second Sunday of the month, which meant that Abhira would take them on a family picnic! Abhi and Akshu woke up and smiled at the kids as Neil came in the door. Ruhi had gotten away from him. Abhi groaned and said that before Neil used to walk in without knocking and now the kids are. Neil advised his bhai to get a lock for their door. Arohi came in behind him and scolded the kids. Akshu shields the kids behind her and tells her not to scold them. Arohi and Akshu start bickering over how Akshu always spoils them. Abhi looks at Neil and smiles, the sisterly rivalry is a part of their lives now, but as mothers both have calmed down a lot. Neil holds Arohi and reminds her of their planned date. She calms down and smiles. The kids all say sorry together.
After getting ready, the whole family comes together for the morning puja with Akshu singing Oh Kanha. Recently, Ruhi has also been singing along, she wants to be a musician like her Akshu maasi. Everyone goes for breakfast next. Manjari has prepared something special for them all. Abhi and Neil scold her for working too hard. She tells them not to get used to it once she goes to work in Akshu’s studio. After years of Abhira encouraging her, Manjari agreed to explore her interests more in a professional capacity. After breakfast they are all ready for their day out!
Abhira first take them to a carnival with lots of rides. Abhi is constantly worried about the kids and keeps running after them. Akshu gets tired of it and tells him to stop helicopter parenting and go eat some panipuri with her. Abhi is astonished at her capacity to still eat after the heavy breakfast. Akshu grins and drags him along. They both have some pani puri together while keeping an eye on the kids running around between different rides. Abhi calms down after a while and focuses on Akshu. They find a bench and sit together. There are still some issues happening in the family that they don’t really get to discuss. They discuss Shefali and Parth’s recent fight regarding Parth’s career. Akshu feels strongly that he should also join her music studio, but Abhi is concerned about Mahima not agreeing and it creating deeper issues. Abhi asks Akshu to talk to Parth about it in private and see what he feels like. He will confer with Shefali. If they both feel like it’s the right choice, then Abhi will talk to Mahima.
They then move onto happier topics of planning Mimi’s birthday party.
Around midday Abhira and the kids go to their garden. Abhi and the kids water the plants and dig up any weeds. There are now three smaller plants surrounding the larger plant that Abhira planted together so many years ago. Akshu then gets the kids to clean up and gets things ready from the picnic basket. Abhi looks at his happy family all together and is content. He walks upto Akshu and gives her a kiss on the cheek. She blushes and pushes him away. All the three kids groan at this public display of affection that they are all too used to.
Abhira then ask them about school, and Aansh and Ruhi groan again. Abhir proudly says that he is going to get a certificate for being first in the class. Ruhi talks about her singing and dancing practices and Aansh talks about how much he is enjoying his painting lessons with Kairav Mamu. Abhira are super proud of their kids and hug them all in a big bear hug. Aansh asks them to tell the story of their first meeting again. All three kids sit in a semi-circle, while Akshu talks about Abhira’s first meeting all over again. She talks about how she was singing and Abhi came running from God knows where towards her. Abhi smiles and looks down while the kids tease him. Akshu then talks about how he saved her, once from falling and the second time from gundas. Abhi teases her again that why was she sitting out there alone in the first place. Then she asks him if she had not been, how would he have found her. And he tells her he would have found her no matter what.
By now it is getting later in the day and the kids are looking drowsy. Abhira wrap them all up and get them to the car. Akshu mentions going for ice cream and they perk up again. Abhi sighs and expresses his worry about eating too many sweets. Abhira squabble over the sweet intake of the kids, with Akshu finally winning by showing her puppy face. Abhi takes them all to have some ice cream. While the kids are having ice cream, Abhira talk about their lives and how perfect this moment is. Abhi asks her what she wants to do next weekend when they have some time alone. Akshu suggests their usual dinner at a nice place and then drive through movie. Abhi smiles and says he is looking forward to the movie. Akshu smiles and says she is not sure there are any good movies available. Abhi tells her the point is not the movie, Akshu blushes and tries to come up with a retort but is interrupted by Ruhi complaining about the boys. She instead just winks at Abhi as he goes to resolve the issue.
Abhira then drive home together with the kids sleeping in the back seat.

This is so endearing 
This is what rishta should always be about. Exploring various aspects of relationships in a household, a joint family. I truly expected all and many more such challenges in the show that Abhira are thrown in to be solved together as a couple. 
and him working hard talking to different people to make both women more successful
