I think there is going to be more to it and his reasons will be shown. To me it seems like he is giving in because he honestly wants her to believe he is innocent. Like even if he gets jailed, he doesn't care. What he cares about is that she should not think he is a murderer. So at the end of the day, it just matters what she thinks.

He might want her to be the lawyer so she can atleast try to think about his POV and if she proves him innocent she will believe it. If he has another lawyer and gets proven innocent she will still doubt him.

I don't blame Abhir. He is a kid.

But she should have been more sensible from start, at least for the sake of the kid. Things are twisted right now and somewhere I feel Abhi understands.
