Tug-of-War:
We got the conclusion of our tug of war today
The towel rips in half and Mimi gives the lecture for both men to calm down. I'm glad Manish took Kairav away from there. His sudden overprotectiveness is going to cause problems and its going to end up in a big fight and we are going to get Akshu telling her brother to stay out of whatever is going on between her and Abhi.
I appreciated Manish trying to explain to Kairav that Akshu is now married and there are certain things she has to learn about her in-laws and how she cannot go rushing in and changing everything. And even he recognizes that Akshu had good intentions but the results unfortunately turned out badly. But this issue is for her to fix with Abhi and her in-laws. This does not concern Kairav nor the Goenkas for that matter.
And what happened upstairs with Abhi and Akshu alone? They sorted everything out and they came downstairs genuinely happy. The rest of the Goenkas are happy (gasp even Arohi was normal and was welcoming them 😆) Abhira have no shame feeding each other at the table but Kairav is just angrily staring at Abhi 🤔 Kairav has OD on the Vicks it's cleared his head so much he forgot how he didn't take care of Akshu properly when she was still with him and now suddenly he's on overdrive trying to protect her from what exact? It's not like I don't understand from where Kairav is coming from but Manish has already explained to him. And if he was so concern he could arranged a chai date with his sister to just poke a little and say is everything okay instead of fuming to the side. It's like we lost some of the sensibleness in Kairav.
Peaceful Park with Scarry Horror Dolls:
Those dolls seriously are scary. I could have done without them. They could have just zoomed in on the tree and thrown a flash back scene of him hanging upside down and we would have gotten where they were.
I wasn't too thrilled about Abhi making Akshu promise but I understood where he was coming from. He's seen a lot and he tried to explain to her without getting into the details about what he has witnessed as a child growing up in the Birla household. It was enough for Akshu to understand that he carries with him some deep wounds. And she's now seen the extent of her father-in-law's complete lack of respect for his wife and the pain that her mother-in-law keeps inside. But I like what Akshu said because it is true. The more you run the away, one day it will catch up and you won't have a place to hide anymore. One day he's going to have to face his trauma and deal with his family not in the angry tornado type of way like he has done in the past but with some calmness to get his point across. I don't doubt Akshu will still do things that will help the family but she won't be throwing surprise parties anymore and forcing her ideals of what she believes a family should be doing well at least not as forcefully.
Kitchen Mirchi Romance on its way
I thought that the park scene was less Abhi running away from his problems, and more him trying to protect Akshu... and also Manjari. As for what he told Akshu, that is just his coping mechanism and how he deals with the trauma he has faced since childhood- so I wouldn't call that running away either! What he does run away from is his pain -- instead of dealing with it in a healthy way, he bottles it up inside or explodes in anger. And, Akshu knows that by now. I loved Pranali's expression in that scene, because even though he didn't reveal much, it was more than enough for Akshu to see how much pain he was in! I thought her dialogue was more hinting at the fact that she knows how much he loves his family despite everything and yearns for their love. And there will come a day when he will accept that as the truth & try to make amends... and Akshu will be the calm he needs in order to accomplish that! I find it really beautiful that she has seen through his tough exterior since almost the very beginning. Even when he wanted them to run away and get married, she knew that wouldn't make him happy at the end of the day, because despite what he calls himself, he is a family man at the core too!! They just have different ways of expressing it!
