Vedika is on her way out - Pankhuri Awasthy

Pankhuri Awasthy, who has been at the receiving end of a lot of hate mail for her effective portrayal of Vedika in Star Plus show, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, might finally heave a sigh of relief.

“My character is now heading towards a culmination and we might get a clear picture in a month’s time.”

Talking about the current track, she says, “While you might find her wrong, but in her head, she is just fighting for her husband. No wonder Vedika got ready to swap her kidney for her love. Naira (Shivangi Joshi) needed a transplant and only I was a fit donor.”

“Ironically, she was forced into marriage, but has now flipped for her hubby. Love makes you do weird things. At times, you end up forgetting your moral compass.”

Why did she change her mind? “Yes, at first she did agree to let Kartik go, but then she saw that others did not really care for her and were just waiting for her to leave. So she decided to dig in her heels.”

“For the moment, Kartik (Mohsin Khan) is stuck between two women, but I guess something will give soon.”

She further states,“I had a blast doing this role, for it allowed me to play with unreal emotions, which is indeed a challenge as an actor. But then, that is what we are here for, and I am getting good support from the Director’s Kut technical and creative team.”

“Despite all her justification from within, Vedika does know that she is not doing right towards Kartik and Naira. So it is a grayish character. As an actor, I want to do all kinds of stuff. So historical (Razia Sultan) check, social (Kya Kasoor Hai Amla Ka) check, and now, the other woman.”

“Having said that, there is a lot more left to explore. As the Yanks say, you ain’t seen anything yet.” This better half of TV dude Gautam Rode will also be seen in the comic Ayushmann Khurrana flick, Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhaan.

In closing, Pankhuri says, “If my YRKKH character does wrap up, I hope the haters will then extend me the olive branch. I never had an issue with anyone, for I was just doing my job. So hope the above lot also moves on and loves me in my next avatar. Happy New Year, XO XO”.

Won't believe her till I watch it for myself. Also, what does she mean by IF my character does end?

Even if the article is true, she's not leaving till the end of January. With the leap in Feb, I am not so sure we are ever gonna get a relatively happier track for Kaira and Kairav, maybe a third pregnancy won't even be shown.

I can tell her character will most likely end only close till leap and we'll barely get a proper reunion for kaira with actual good and happy moments for them.

Pankhuri’s interviews can’t be trusted. Either she is manipulative like her character; or her character is being stretched unplanned. Saw an interview last month where she had made similar claims that her character had ended.

What time is left after one month? She must be jubilant inside as her cameo got stretched to a full length parallel role that tested our patience. Hardly any screen space left for Kaira before the leap to lead peaceful vedikaless life.And she expects to catch the olive branch ? Sorry Pankhuriji ..Vedika doesn’t deserve it.Be happy with the generosity extended to you by Director’s kut ..Please grace us with your exit...

Yesterday is not soon enough for Vedika to be gone. What a blight on women this character along with her bestie Pallavi have been. The makers of this show should be ashamed of themselves as well as whoever came up with this track. “I’ll give my kidney to a dying person(the love of your life, mother of your child) if you agree to stay with me forever, cuz I’m a sociopath”. What a disgrace to organ donation and the benefits and sacrifices of it. This show can go no lower in my eyes. What a disgusting disgrace to Akshara and Naitik and the original story of this show.

I agree, this is so shameful..where this story has come from the pure love of akshara and naitik.

Also they have put black spot on such a noble cause like organ donation.. #shame
After seeing recent iv of Mohsin, I think we have to be ready for more drag to this track.. as he was saying that Naira is thinking that if Kartik will get to know the truth, his guilt will convert into anger but things and situation is more complicated since beginning so u don’t know what Kartik will say after knowing the truth. After watching this iv, I think this sherni avatar of Naira will be able to do anything or not.. I feel they will drag this situation more and more, as we still have this situation that vedika is Kartik’s wife, how would they force vedika to divorce Kartik

Oh poor girl ... we are not negative towards her... we are negative towards her character.Its not just a TV show girl but most of us have invested our 4 years with their journey! with Kaira! that is why we are so attached to them.
