Alternate history: the better way to leap the story

Hi all, I am longtime lurker but never signed up. This leap has frustrated me as much as many of you, and I was thinking that the separation and misunderstanding could have been so much easier like this:

Everything same until Kartik's party. At Kartik's party Shubham cannot control himself and decides to get more drugs from drug dealers. The drug dealers want to rob the family and force Shubham to take the drug then and there. Naira sees this happening and tries calling the police but the drug dealers and Shubham see her as well. The drug dealers try to chase her because she will ruin their plan and has seen their faces. Shubham wants to help Naira but due to drug effect falls unconcious.

Chase sequence with Naira in forest snatching her phone in her hands running from goons.

Kartik finds Shubham and Goenka family rushes him to hospital. Same scene with doctor saying they need to know the drug. Shubham is semi concious and is repeating "Naira bhabhi ne dekha.. Naira bhabhi ko pata hai.. " remembering that Naira saw him take drugs. Goenkas misunderstand that Naira knows the drug. Kartik calls Naira in panic. Meanwhile, Naira has escaped the goons and stops a cab to go to the police station. The goons follow her in truck. She is in panic when her phone starts ringing. She picks up the phone. Kartik "Naira Shubham ki jaan khatre me hai.. kon sa drug leta hai wo" Naira: "Kya!!! Main..main tumhe nahi bata sakti Kartik.." and before she can finish her sentence, the goons truck hits the cab. The cab driver dies on spot and Naira is severely injured. Naitik gets a call on his phone from Naira's hospital and the Singhanias rush there. Before falling unconcious, Naira tells Naitik "papa..papa Shubham koi drug le raha tha.. maine koshish ki use bachane ki papa papa..". When Naira is undergoing surgery, Naitik is sitting outside and he sees Naira's phone. There is a call from Kartik around the accident time. Naitik misunderstands that the Goenka family knows about Naira's accident. When he goes to Goenka villa to attend Shubham's last rites, Suvarna insults him saying that his daugther killed Shubham. He gets enraged thinking that his daughter almost died caring for Shubham and the Goenkas did not care to come see Naira after her accident and blame her instead for Shubham's death. He vows never to send Naira back to such house. He instructs Kirti also to break all her ties with her Mayka.

I can write more scenes but the immediate aftermath is not important. Kartik thinks that Naira hid this big secret from her that caused Shubham's death, and instead of taking this responsibility she ran away from their life. In the background, Suvarna says "Main us ladki ko kabhi hamari life me wapas nahi aane dungi"

Meanwhile Naira is in coma for three months. When she wakes up, Naitik tells her that despite knowing about her accident (which he just assumed seeing Kartik's call) they did not bother to come see her because they blame her for Shubham's death. Even Kartik broke all ties with her and Suvarna insulted him at Shubham's last rites. She also suffered a permanent damage in her leg and can't dance. Hearing all this, Naira is deeply hurt and decides to move away from the city. In the background, Naitik says "Main apni beti ko kabhi us ghar me wapas nahi jane dunga"

Other family folks are friendly and do not want Kaira to separate but are stopped due to their love for Suvarna/Naitik. They never get a chance to come face to face and clear the misunderstanding because Suvarna and Naitik avoid such interactions at all costs.

So there you have it folks, I just wanted to vent out how frustrating and hastily written this leap was. I know even this is not perfect, the biggest flaw being communication between Naira and Kartik. Specially because YRKKH's portrayal of Kaira and how perfect their relationship is.

What a wonderful story. BTW I never watched the episode when Shubham died, so could somebody tell me what happened that lead to shubham's death. I only know of psycho kabeer being the one to get him hooked to the drugs and that's all.

In the show, Naira gets to know about Shubham's drug problem but Shubham begs her to give him one day before telling the family. Shubham then overdoses, is rushed to hospital leaving Naira behind (I think she was hurt by goons). The doctor says they need to know what drug he takes. Shubham says Naira bhabhi naira bhabhi, and the family is shocked to learn Naira knew about his problem and did not tell anyone. By the time naira reaches, shubham is dead and Naira is blamed. Especially by Suvarna, she yells and pushes Naira away blaming her for Shubham's death. Kartik says "tum kuch der ke liye chali jao naira" and naira says that she will wait for Kartik on the terrace. (This part confused me the most... why terrace? Just go wait in your room! It is not even like the show has shown any special connection to the terrace!) Then it appears that she slipped (read ongoing theories about that on the forum) and the Goenkas were busy with last rites and did not notice/realize. Kartik thinks that she didn't come for Shubham's last rites.

Later they fight face to face where Kartik says you didn't trust me enough to tell me about Shubham. Naira says something like "has our relationship come to this now" (i don't remember exactly it was a very lame fight, they were basically both high on emotions and fought). It escalates to the point where Naira says "there is no point in me staying here then" and Kartik says "then you should go" Also, some "I hate you"s are exchanged. And they leap 2 years without meeting each other. The part I have an issue with here is that this was basically just an emotion fuelled fight that they could have just thought about with a cool mind later and realized. No logical communication was exchanged, no misunderstanding was cleared. Naira doesn't say about falling from terrace. Kartik doesn't say about her not showing up for Shubham's last rites. Nothing. They just decide to break up. This goes so much against their relationship portrayal so far. 😕😕

Post leap, Kartik blames Naira for leaving him 😕and Naira thinks Kartik asked her to leave. 😕
