Yes, women protagonists are supposed to be the 'jaan' of the Indian soaps since the majority of the viewership comprises women; but YR was different until 2009. Till then, Akshara wasn't made to look perfect or a superwoman. Her character was more realistic and connectable back then. She was shown making her share of mistakes and learning from them. And this is what made her character adorable.

But now things have changed. CVs are hell bent on showing her perfect at everything: as a businesswoman, as a home-maker, as a wife, as a mother and as all other roles she plays as a being. With each track CVs glorify the character of Akshara and condemn that of Naitik's. 🤢
