What I say and do is what I am'...this is what defines Mukhi. He is what you see, pure and transparent as the fresh morning dew. And it is not just my inclined feelings but this is what I saw in yesterday's episode. Here is what was revealed about his personality -

Mukhi's interaction with Anshul : We all saw Anshul warned Mukhi and he stepped back for Aru's sake, even Anshul cheekily acknowledge that... "kya muhobbat hai..? and on the face value, I loved it, but knowing Mukhi's character, I am sure he would have done the same had there be Sangvi aur his little sister in place of Aru. (Remember how he stood in front of raging villagers ready to take the first strike to protect Sangvi!) That is the kind of person he is. He hates injustice and wrongdoings being meted out to innocent people. He can go to any length to save someone he cares about. Yesterday, I saw a man simmering in anger with a strength to wage a war yet holding himself back. I saw the power and firmness with which he held the hand of the goon who wanted the bag first. Yet, Mukhi held himself back when Anshul calmly demanded money first. Why did Anshul stopped the man to take out his gun so calmly? Well, because he knows that Mukhi is a man who does not believe in violence. What are these miserable goons in front a valiant man like Mukhi and yet he again gives in and held his anger back! But WHY? Were you scared about Aru's life or is it that you are so simple and straightforward at heart, not cunning and shrewd like Anshul. "I'll give money and get my Aru back... Period Mukhiji!, do you really expects a fair deal even from a criminal minded person like Anshul! My believe in your simplicity got even stronger after seeing your surprise reaction at the locked door, "paise to de diye phir yeh kyon?... Come on!...Mukhiji,...this world is full of wretched people like Anshul, your own elder sister and brother-in-law. They are not honest and fair-hearted like you. But it is not your fault...you are tailor-made like that to trust people blindly. No wonder you could not see all the wrongs happening by your own trusted people against yourself and within your own family.

Mukhi's interaction with Aru: Till he entered the hut we saw a caring and somewhat scared Mukhi but once he saw Aru he transformed into so many shades. There are lovely posts on this forum explain so explicitly about Mukhi's realization of love. I would suggest you all to go and read those posts. But here concentrating on what I saw between the lines... I saw a guilty lover who thinks because of a misunderstanding Aru was in such a situation. Sangvi warned Mukhi earlier also that Aru is misunderstanding their friendship but Mukhi deliberately chose not to clear that misunderstanding. He had realized his fondness for Aru a long time back but their age-difference, mismatched social difference, Aru's being tricked and forced into marriage and most of all Aru's dreams to make it big forbid him to even entertain the idea of him falling for Aru. I so vividly remember a faint smile of joy when he got another proof of Aru's love for him at the hospital. And then, when Aru says, "utana dard nahin hua jitna aapko aur sangvi di ko saath dekh ke hua. Mukhi's heart and soul wrenched realising her pain. Deep down in his heart he blames himself for Aru's misery and I saw him transforming into a comforter who wanted to relieve his love from that agony. His voice chokes with emotions, continuously caressing her face he pacifies her in the breath-stopping husky voice as if saying, "don't worry...I am all yours...there is none but only you. I saw, how boldly this shy, old-fashioned, controlled Mukhi had let himself go beyond his self-imposed boundaries! Then I saw him trying frantically to save her from the fire. And then at a point when he wants only Aru to escape, he says, "dono jal jayenge. I wonder, were you only taking about the fire around or was it about the fire within! Mukhiji! I know you are not a quitter to let yourself die here in this manner, if you can save Aru, you can save yourself too. "dono jal jayenge this was your biggest fear. More that the blazing fire outside, you are scared of blazing love between you and your gaurani. In the back of your mind you know once you'll be out, you both will no longer be able to hide your feelings. And how can you let that happen, Right! In your definition, this love will consume you both now, because you have made your mind to part your ways. I guess your inhibition transcends into Aru and she then had to hold you up before you crumble down under the weight of your dilemma. Once you took that leap of love with Aru, Mukhiji, you go all out to express your first reactions so purely without inhibitions, whether it was under the bamboo or splashing of water on your gaurani...sorry no longer that, but your Aru. Did I see a sober Mukhiji transforming into playful lover! Well, I wish that too. You smartly stopped Aru to express her feeling now how I wish you will not hold yourself back but do something to express your love to her. Oh! I must say something about the splashing of a jar full of water. Aru, dear! you had stirred and unsealed the jar filled up to the brim. I saw a glimpse of what's hidden deep in your Mukhi's heart and only you have skill to dig deep and unearth the fountain of love hidden inside.

Agree ...He is smart and simpleton. For him black is black and white is white. I wish he would say love is love😳 and just 'pasand'😕

Dono jal jayenge! You got a point there!
On her side he may feel that her life and dreams will turn to ashes if she is with him. And on his side, well he will burn with the guilt of ruining her life thus destroying his peace as well.
Stupid Mukhijiii... see how she holds your hand and tells u that you will both come out of the fire and will both survive. Start listening to her and take her opinion about your relationship and you will be surprised at what she has in mind!

Mukhi's character, like I said in another post is always shown as someone who has found his place on this earth. He has made his own world too. His manners, his beliefs, his actions. Any question that Aru had initially, he always had an answer as to why he is like that and it was always correct.

He has lived twice her age and has 'settled' to his way of life. This normally comes around the late 30s or 40s that people stop experimenting and kind of want the same stuff all the time. Mukhi had 'found' himself long long ago and that is the reason he knows that being tied to him is not right for Aru.

But, dear dear Mukhi doesn't know that Aru is one of a kind whom he has never come across. She is a doer and achiever, come what may. He needs to talk it out with her and only then can he convince himself!

I've been wanting to make a post about the episode yesterday but constantly find myself falling short of words to describe and do justice to the brilliance that was portrayed on screen yesterday - in terms of acting, screenplay, filings, cinematography, story and direction! And you've done such an amazing job with your post! Hats off!

Your observation about the "dono jal jaayenge" dialog is especially commendable. That just threw a whole new light, a whole new dimension to the episode all together for me! Like an eye opener. And that also puts into perspective Mukhi letting go of his self imposed restrictions and openly displaying his affections in that iconic foot scene.

Eijaz and Niyati totally killed it yesterday. I cannot describe it any better than you did how amazing Eijaz was in portraying Mukhi in yesterday's episode. And I am equally impressed with Niyati's portrayal as well. She looks young, vulnerable and innocent and at the same time, her growing feelings for Mukhi reflect so wonderful in her body language, her facial expressions and in her eyes. She is at once the awestruck 20 something year old in love for the very first time (in the way she looks at Mukhi) and then the very next instant, she is all woman, coying away from his gaze when he drenches her from head to toe.

The change in dynamics comes across so effortlessly, without so much as a single word spoken between them. It's their eyes that do all the talking. It's not the first time Mukhi has seen her drenched to the skin, in fact, he has seen her in much more vulnerable states. But then, their relationship was different. Respect and care defined their relationship. Not that the respect and care are gone now, but now, like Eijaz mentioned in the off screen interview, they are perhaps for the first time physically aware of each other, as man and woman, aware that there is a sensual undercurrent to this newfound tide of emotions they are feeling. And I'll say it again, they express all of this just with their eyes. Not a word spoken, not a touch exchanged during the splashing water scene. It's absolute brilliance, in terms of conceptualization, writing, direction and by God, acting at its very very best!

The way Mukhi looks at her, uff! Like you said, it's but a glimpse of what lies beneath. And I am so glad we will get to witness this journey of unraveling the layers of Mukhi - from being the gruff village head to a lover - naughty, intense, caring and passionate, all rolled into one. just as spectacular will be Aru's transition, from a bubbly, spontaneous, jugadu girl with a world of dreams to a woman in love, learning the patience, passion and yearning of love in its many forms.

😭 I can only wish Mukhi won't stress to much on it. He must realise that ' jal ke hi sona nikharta hai'.

Standing ovation for both of them👏👏...it is not easy to show such intense feeling unless you go deep into the character.

Yes , you are so apt...I feel the same. The proximity had played its role for the first time...and for Aru it is so real but for our mukhi it is surreal.😆

...eagerly waiting for this.

Whitepearl, I think I know you from another forum as well, was it IPPKND ?
Nevertheless, Great to see you here !!

And lovely post- you nailed two important aspects of Mukhi- his Naivette and blind trust in the fairness of the world around him, makes him a gullible simpleton at times. He actually went alone to get Aru, and did not pursue the goons after that. And as you pointed out he was surprised to be locked in the hut.
I do hope, they do not close this track and show him thinking about this goon..and go after him because now he knows it was not just about money..and hopefully from Anshul's phone he hears the recording from Rami.
But anyway...the water splash scene and her caring but coy behavior was so adorable..she is discovering this playful side of Raidhan. they are also entering a state of role reversal. Usually she is chirpy playful being among them and brings cute and funny side of their interactions . He is usuallythe serious one what wants to talk sense. Now they are entering reverse mode, rubbing off each other...he is being playful when she is trying to be all mature and serious.

I do hope soon she stops calling him Mukhiji. Thats his role in the village, not his name and I want her to call him something more than a village leader, something more personal...

I want to appreciate Niyati here...Eijaz is an awesome and established , seasoned actor who knows how to hold himself with people around. Niyati is young , new, talented and very very grounded. Its so easy for her to be overwhelmed with acting a couple with a guy who is really 20 years her senior in all aspects. She can get bullied easily but she holds her own and brings her unique blend of charm, innocence, maturity and grace in the show. The bamboo scene must not have been easy for her, want to give my special kudos to her for it.
