| t is time for the second STAR Parivar awards to spread its glitz and galmour over Indian television. This year, there are 25 categories and some new characters who have also found their way into the contest like Karan, Nandini, Monika, Vikram, Sujal, Kashish and many more. There will also be some eyecatching perfomrances by Komolika and Annu, Sumit and Kumkum, Dev-Pammi, Karan-Nandini and the kids Fruity, Shaan,Karishma and Sanju. MIDBANNER Like last year, the voting will be conducted through polls. The viewer can either send and sms,log onto indya.com or dial the number shown on screen and then choose their favorites. Two hour hour nomination specials will be telecast on May 26 and May 27. Hosted by Samar Khan, the shows will explain announce the various categories, introduce the nominees and enlighten the viewer on the voting mechanism which begins from midnight on May 26 and carries on till June 10. The first nomination special carries on May 26 will announcing the nominations of 13 categories- Favourite Dada/Nana, Dadi/Nani,Pita, Maa,Beta,Beti, Bhai,Behen,Bhabhi, Devar,Jaadui Kirdar, Chhota Bachcha and Action Hero.The second part will announce the remaining nominations - Favourite Bahu, Saas, Sasur, Jethani, Devrani, Nanad,Pati, Patni,Saut,Yogya Damad,Yogya Bahu and Jodi. This year STAR Plus has come with something unique and entertaining for the Jodi No.1 category which is clearly the most interesting and popular one In a Jodi Special episode to be telecast on June 5 at 8.00 pm This special show features some ofthe much loved couples on Star Plus who have been nominated. Amongst the 6 Jodis who have been nominated this year the four Jodis present are - Kum Kum and Sumit from Kumkum..Ek Pyara Bandhan Anurag and Prerna from Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Sujal and Kashish from Kahin To Hoga, Karan and Nandini from Kyunki Saas BHi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Each jodi introduce themselves and tell the viewer why they deserve to win the Favourite Jodi award.Then the audience get a chance to interrogate the nominees about mistakes that they have made in the past which which were well fielded by the nominees.Round three is an entertaining one where the jodis play a game by swapping teams and asking questions to their partner checking how well they know each other. As far as the voting is concerned where the viewer can choose theier favourite pair and also have some fun by pairing off one character from one serial with another from a different serial. To top it all STAR Plus has also put together a MAGIC MOMENTS segment which will be telecast on June 12 from 8.00 pm to 9.30 pm. Some of the popular characters from eleven leading shows will take the audience through the high points in the last one year of their lives that has happened in the shows.The shows that will be covered are - Kyunki SaasBhi Kabhi Babhu Thi, Kahaanii Ghar Ghar Kii, Kahin To Hoga, Saara Akaash, Kabhi Aaye Na Judaai, Kumkum, Sanjivani, Bhabhi, Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand, Kasauti Zindagi Kay and Kehta Hai Dil. It was evident from last year's show that nobody goes home empty handed and that actors take their imges and their awards very seriously. The same magic may just be repeated this year also. The awards will be telecast on June 19 at 8.pm on STAR Plus. |
