I agree we should just accept the fact that they messed up timeline but the virgo perfectionist in me can not let it go so easily... Matlab this timeline was just so easy to handle... They unnecessarily messed it up.

Ok another angle, in first episode grown up Naina said she topped class 10th in 1989 which means she should pass out from 12th in 1991 and not 1992..

There was a girl who responded to this point

PVKM is one of its kind in which the academic year is mentioned as the one in which it started. For example for the batch which got into class 10 in 89 and passed in 90 would be called as the batch of 89 so probably she meant that she passed the class of 89 (whose exam was in 1990) similarly the batch was Arjun who was in class 12 in 1990-91 was called the batch of 1990 (as shown in their farewell banner)

So this problem is solved

But I wanted to know wasn't that the last year she topped? So why are they calling her the topper this year. Another blooper
