Yes this would be the best way to show leap in the story
They can't keep the main leads away from each other for a long time
So this is the logical way to show transition

I agree agar aise yeh CVS leap batayenge ki woh dono through letter connected hai then it would be a beautiful way to show leap.. with help of voice background telling the passage of time..like do saal mein yeh hua Woh hua..letter exchange kiye
