I dont understand what exactly have people seen in Varun to select him for Pooja, but then it seems they didnt have many options, although that's equally unrealistic since Pooja is hardly 21-22 which is no late even by nineties standards. (My own mom got married when she was 25+ back in seventies)
He has no stand at all. For today we could still say that he didnt want to say something in front of his mother, but do you remember back when he had called Pooja to watch Thanedar? I mean what kind of guy just leaves his fiancee in field and leave especially when she doesnt have any means of transport? At the least he should have waited till Pooja got a rickshaw

Given a choice, I dont think any girl would like to marry him, not now and definitely not back in nineties when somehow the girls wanted a protector in their husbands.

The whole Ladkewale are demi Gods and Ladkiwale are their slaves concept that has been going on for many centuries. It is an evil mindset and has to be removed from the society.

Here the question is not just about Varun. It is how can people remove this from our societies.

Just imagine tomorrow in Arjun's marriage will Rakesh be nice to the Ladkiwale. He will make their lives a living hell. He will be worst than Varun's parents and Arjun will not say anything against his father.

And in Pralay's wedding Taiji will create more hungama than what is happening now.

Yes Varun could have taken his parents to a side and politely made them understand that what they are doing is not right. But unfortunately he has been brought up in such a way that he does not find anything wrong in what his parents are doing.

This is a bigger problem than Varun being a spineless guy etc.

As a society, everyone has to consciously put efforts to remove this evil practice. Otherwise this will continue for few more decades.
