NAINA - A simple 16 yr old girl. Absolutely disciplined and brought up in a typical middle class Indian family. A child which every parent would dream to have. Topper of her class and a prodigy that every school would want in their school. Someone who doesn't understand anything other than her studies and her family. Someone who is never wrong and always on the righteous path. When it comes to Naina the world can only associate positive attributes to her character - nothing Negative...but is it who she is ??
To me there are more shades to Naina . She is a true teenager and just like every person in this world, there are layers of her character that the world has not seen. Is it because she wanted to hide those characters and act as a picture perfect person?? YES and NO. Yes because that is the way of seeking attention from her family and friends - by being perfect. No !!because, she has never ventured into life or the life has not given her the opportunities to show case the traits that was hidden in her.
If you look at Naina , we feel that she comes from a lovely joint family who cares for her and has great friends too. She doesnt look lonely at all. But to me , she is one person who is yearning to be loved for who she is. To be accepted as who she is. One of the weak points that is common in Naina and Sameer is lack of love from their respective mothers. ( We will get to Sameer later ).Mother is one person who will love you blindly irrespective of your good or bad character. She is person on whom you can fall back knowing the fact that she doesnt expect anything from you. Naina lacks that in her life -her mother, to whom she can discuss her dreams , her fears, her anger etc . Every one in her family loves her and wants the best for her but is it like a mom loving a child?? NOPE , it isnt. Her dad could have been a good friend for her but sadly in this case he happens to be one who think girls are not as good as boys. His partial approach towards his kids have also affected Naina's character. She has her Chacha as her guide but even then, that has its limitation. Naina till date has never shown a side of her , where we could see her yearning for her mom. She is shown as a docile , calm and composed girl. We also get to hear from classmates especially boys that she is very emotional and cries at the drop of a pin. She is a girl who suppressed her needs , feelings , yearning to be loved and live in a joint family. She had learnt to be tough from inside. Her docile appearance is a facade that she carries with her.
But what they dont know is tears are her strength. All her dreams , girly needs etc is hidden behind the facade of a perfect studious girl. She had buried the Jansi Ki Rani part of character and Sameer has invoked that part of woman in her which will now help to get the queen out in full swing. Didnt we see a glimpse of it in yesterday's episode -
1) long lecture after pulling her hand away from him
2) the way she looked at him as she was walking away from him after eating pani poori ,
3) At the cassette shop , a long list of movies or abuses??!! lol,
4) At her friend's house, she ignored him. He tried his level best to get her attention by flirting with her friend but she acted as if he didnt exist for her...
for me , what stood out is the way she sat repairing her cycle even after seeing Sameer coming towards her on his bike in full speed . She never moved from that place not even an inch. She showed no anger or didnt even think there was a need to shout at him. He tried to scare her with his bike but she didnt even flinch. Because somewhere deep down in heart she knew that he didnt have the capability of harming her and another point is when challenged she is not scared to face it and she will do it with all her might ..even if it means - getting hurt in that process...now ..That is Naina Agarwal!! the girl that Sameer Maheshwari is trying to win...rofl
It wont be as easy as Sameer thinks to break this girl or her heart. Because she is not as soft as the world sees her. She knows not only to hide her emotions but also secrets when it comes to some someone close to her heart..may it be her brother or Sameer. She knows to lie for her loved ones but in spite of all this , there are few principles that she follows in her life . That is something that she will never break especially her ideology of love and life partner.
On the Other hand SAMEER ,a very naughty teenager. Absolute indiscipline is his middle name and coming from a broken family. A child any parent would be scared to call their own. Very bad at academics and a student every school would be happy to keep away from their premises . Someone who wants to have fun in life and is running away from responsibility and reality of life..rather he is running away from him..?? All his show offs are a way of seeking attention...but is it who he is ??
To me he is very good at heart and he understands people. He cares for the people who is close to him and will do anything for them irrespective of what world things about him. Sameer, like Naina is yearning to be loved but the added advantage that he has is his Nanu, who is matured , tactful and understands him like how a mother does to her kids. Though what he needs is his own mom's love and affection . Above all, not wanting to be compared with his stepbrother who is shown as a perfect person. Sameer puts on a hard front with his cool , I dont care ...nothing affects me kind of attitude. But at heart he is very soft hearted. He looses hope very soon, we know it from the cricket match episode. He would have won the game , if his mom had not walked out. When things gets tough , he runs away from them. Even now , when Naina rejected him ..he didnt mind loosing the bet. He didnt think of winning her . He needs someone to heal his heart by loving him and encouraging him to look at life with hope. Naina to an extant was able to teach him to win - his marks had improved when she taught him. So why did Sameer take up such a challenge to win the heart of a studies girl like Naina?? I feel somewhere deep down in his heart he was able to connect with her. Her simplicity from the day one had attracted him and above all to take away something from her father - her fathers pride. Sadly Sameer doesnt know the truth of Naina's life. All the best to Sameer because while trying to win her , woo her or whatever it is he will get in touch with his inner self too!! Probably even teach him to face life and get what he wants in his life??!!
Everyone in world has two sides to their character one for the world and one for themselves. It's the same with Naina and Sameer.
Wondering what would happen when the facades break and when "The Tough Naina and "Softhearted Sameer gets to know the each other...will they be each other's cheer leader ?? a life partner?? a friend?? or just stay as first crush?? Only time will tell ...but I am sure its going to be very interesting !!
