"You don't worry about anything Ishita..I know it's very painful for you but trust me..I will make everything alright. I will bring Romi in front of you and he will have to fold his hands to you. I will never ever let you suffer the pain which you don't deserve. I know Ishita..you're innocent. Just trust me..you trust me na Ishi..Ishita..?" Raman realized Ishita wasn't responding to him. He looked at her and found her insensate in his arms. Her puffy eyes were closed and she was oblivious of everything, tired of crying and hence crashed to his arms in agony.

He caressed her face gently and said shaking her shoulder with the free hand, "Ishita..Ishi..are you listening me?" He within a fraction of seconds carried her in his arms and straightened his way towards the bed. He tucked her onto the bed gentle enough not to cause any sort of disturbance and covered her with duvet.

"I'm so sorry Ishita." Raman mumbled an apology looking at her the soon he sat down near her keeping his hands over her forehead, trying to take away all her pain. He had never imagined in his wildest dreams that Ishita, a sweet, chirpy girl who had been always selfless for others was witnessing and suffering more than a lot in just a few passing minutes. Her life was messed up and he could do nothing about it except connecting himself with her in order to lessen her pain.

His eyes welled up on observing her angelic face. How can someone play with such innocent people? Raman was astonished. He observed her carefully while she was sleeping with lines of worry making its appearance over the forehead. He roamed his fingers over them and they disappeared from her face.

The night passed in haste for the newly wedded couple.

As the sun rays fell over Ishita's face passing through the curtains, her slumber broke down. She lazily opened her droopy eyes and roamed her eyes little surprisingly. Where was she? She got up and sat on the bed recalling the events happened last night and she realized she got married to Raman, her face turned pale and stared at her bridal attire which she had been wearing since last night function. Tears were about to roll down her cheeks when she heard his voice.

"Good morning!"

Ishita turned her face and searched him in the direction of his voice. There she found him, standing near the door with a mug filled with steaming coffee in white kurta. She looked at him back, her eyes glued at his fake smile plastered over his face.

Before she could say anything, she saw him stepping towards her. In next five seconds, he was there, sitting in front of her!

"Not a problem if you greet me back or not..but the problem occurs if you don't start your day with your coffee. You like it, right?" Raman said placing the mug in her hands gently that he doesn't mind if she prefers to ignore greeting him.

Ishita took it giving a helpless look and a lone tear dropped in it from her eyes. She could not take it anymore. How can he behave so normal?

Finally, she spoke breaking the ice from her side, "Why are you doing this Raman? You know it well that it's not going to work." Tears brimmed in her eyes as she recalled everything in her mind. It wasn't possible for her to act like everything is alright. Her life had messed up in an absolute manner and his carefree attitude bothered her to bits. She didn't want him to behave as if it didn't influence his life as well.

Raman felt a sharp pain as if someone had stabbed his heart with knife several times. Her heart wrenching voice made him feel so. She sounded so helpless and disturbed. He silently took the mug back from her hands and kept it on the table. Cupping her cheeks under his palms, he pecked her forehead while she let him do closing her eyes and replied, "Don't cry Ishita..it's not good for you. I told you na I will make everything alright..just give me some time. I assure you, you still have a beautiful life..everything is same..just the way they were. Did you listen me..everything is in your hands only." He tried making her understand with his possible comforting words, caressing her tears frequently.

"But how Raman..do you have any idea what's going on in my mind now? I've lost everything and.." she was cut off by his adding syllables, "You haven't lost anything..do you get that? I won't let anyone snatch anything from you. Trust me na baba." His tone softened at the last when he realized his soft tone was the only medicine for her now to heal her agony.

Ishita leaned her head over his chest while Raman wrapped his arms around her protectively. They stayed for the same for few minutes when he realized she hadn't eaten since last night. He pulled her from himself and spoke wiping off her tears again which were nonstop, "Stop stressing yourself. Go and get ready till I ask Maa to bring breakfast for you." He said lovingly. "And yeah, I don't like these tears in your eyes. So it's better if you don't allow them!" he added more about his dislike when he gets their presence in her eyes.

"No..I don't feel like having anything. I'm fine." Ishita answered casting her eyes down in a trembling voice.

"Ishita..don't give punishment to your health. As I already told you, I will make things better, you just stop punishing yourself." He reminded her that he had promised to make things effective.

Ishita uplifted her eyes, staring into his and replied, "Things have gone out of our hands, Raman. Now all I have to do is compromise." She spoke her heart out. "But you don't worry..I will not let you compromise with your life..we still have time. If you want, we can go for divorce or.."

"Shut your mouth Ishitaaa!!" he growled at her for uttering something which hurts him beyond anything while she was left astonished by his reaction. She didn't imagine this. While he continued, "Don't ever say like that again. And how did you even think of it Ishita? DIVORCE? Really? I mean..do you really think I can go for it? Agar talaak hi dena hota to main shaadi kyun karta tumse? I married you to ease your pain..not to give you a tag of Divorcee, yaar! Don't you understand that little thing?" he looked so hurt and angry. His eyes had turned moist while speaking about what this marriage means to him. It was not a play for him. He really meant it and will be till the last breathe of his life.

Ishita was left dumbstruck hearing him. His words had affected her a lot, more than a lot. She didn't imagine she had been so lucky to have Raman as her best friend during her college times. She was blessed to have such a rare soul in her life who gave importance to her life rather than his own. She simply nodded her head and dismounted from the bed to walk away from there when he held her wrist and said lowering his eyes, "I am sorry but I didn't mean to get angry at you. You go and freshen up. I am coming in a while." He said in an apologetic tone while she nodded back and walked from there.

"Ishita puttar..did I disturb you?" Toshi jee asked in a sweet manner knocking on the door, asking Ishita if she could get in.

Her sweet tone broke Ishita's stupor and she faced her standing near the entrance with a tray of breakfast for her. Ishita immediately composed herself, plastering a fake slight grin over her face as she didn't want to present herself disturbed in front of her Mother In Law. Walking away from the window, she stepped towards her saying, "Please come in Aunty..I mean Mummy jee." She corrected her sentence realizing Raman's Maa was now her mother as well.

Closing the door behind once Toshi jee entered the room within, she said adoring Ishita "Come, have a sit." who was dressed up beautifully in a red saree with simple touchup. Ishita gave a small nod and sat down on the couch beside her. She waited for her to speak something as Toshi jee put down the tray over the table there in front of them. But she didn't speak anything. Her eyes but surely did. Her eyes were adoring Ishita's simplicity as a girl or as a married woman with a serene smile playing on her lips making Ishita more nervous under her gaze. The vermillion on her forehead and the nuptial locket tied around her neck had added ethernal mark in her beauty, reminding each and every second that she was Raman's wife.

"You're so beautiful, puttar. May God bless you with abundance of happiness." Blessed Toshi jee with all her heart pouring unconditional love over her, caressing her soft cheeks, after admiring her fully.

Ishita could only return her sweet smile to her mother. Except her fake smile which was enough presentable, she was left with pain and void only.

Getting her lines of tension over her forehead which she had been trying to hide behind her smile, Toshi jee took a morsel in her hands and forwaded near Ishita's mouth saying, "You know what puttar..a mother gets hurt more when she sees her child giving punishment to food. And as far as I know, you consider me as your Maa. Then I'm very sure about it that you won't hurt me!" she indirectly hinted her to have the food she was feeding her by her own hands.

Ishita couldn't deny her love. She just could not disrespect the love of a mother. Staring at Toshi jee's face for long, tears appeared in her eyes as the image of her Amma flashed in her mind and she had the food silently while Toshi jee fed her lovingly.
