They are just back-tracking to show Ishita's insecurities. There is no way anyone can doubt that Raman hasn't show his attraction to her as a woman (and not mother, etc) in the last 7 months.

But that's what Krishy 😭 backtracking kills the build up they created. Instead of showing her say something like that. They could have bought up sensible insecurities I could really relate to. She could be shown insecure about - not being to please Raman because she's been abandoned so many times before, because its the first time for her. She could be shown scared to take another step because if they cannot have the baby she thinks she might have to face her past. With a woman with such a medical problem and one whose gone through such an emotional turmoil can naturally have those fears. Why go back about a 100 steps and destroy what you yourself built by giving the leads such dialogues 😕

Yes his libido was turned down in Mumbai at first & during his sickness scare...but I guess if your mind is super super preoccupied...you can't get funky.

Ishita feeling like she's just a governess is still a really sad fact, but I can see where it comes from b/c people have often taunted her on this matter. Plus the most immediate memory of intimacy in her mind is during Raman's sickness scare where he tried to avoid her. So maybe in a moment of insecurity, she forgot the outpouring of deep, raw love & passion they have had.

I agree Krishy. She's been taunted and plus she hasn't birthed Adi and Ruhi, so sometimes this thought can occur. BUT the family and her husband has always respected her, given her the sense of security she deserves and more.

And yeah maybe you're right that after Shagun's taunts the immediate memory was Raman not being interested in her even though she dressed up as what he'd like. - That is a point to be noted. When one is angry or hurt, you choose not to think the sane way even if you want to.

If she really doesn't feel welcomed and accepted, it means that they both really really need a heart to heart. We can only pray they have a discussion before consummation.

CONVERSATION NEEDED REAL BAD. And a mature long one.

They've distorted the meaning of consummation starting in like May with talk of battle supreme with babies. We can only hope the undo some of this and actually show a couple having sex out of love.

Let Ishita feel fully comfortable as Mrs. Raman Kumar Bhalla. She isn't just his soulmate in terms of emotions support & such, but she should take on the full role of Mrs. Ishita Raman Kumar Bhalla & that entails having a normal healthy physical relationship.

Marriages are made on emotional, spiritual, and physical companionship in the truest sense.

Shagun was able to be a wife in the physical sense to Raman, but Ishita has filled in the void for his emotional & spiritual self. But for both to truly become complete, they do need to do it. 😆

I have faith in Raman and Ishita that they do not just want to make love for the baby. Yes it is shown that way because for some off reason they do not want to mention 'making love' out of an individual context.

But they need to have a conversation where they talk about the same, that it's okay not to have a baby. But their relation should be complete in every sense and hence they need to take a step ahead. Maybe these misunderstandings might lead to a consensual intimate moment. But the conversation is STILL important when they touch such issues.

@Krishy - well said.. yes Raman is already insequre as his own family MU him.. yes he knows ishu is NOT shagun but circumstance created by Ashok made him more vulnerable and his impulsive nature making the situation more worse.. even i wanted Raman to save ishu but CV 's are busy in glorifying there favorite character ...

If I have to justify both Raman and Ishita considering all the spoilers and today's episode.

Ishita has had a past where she was abandoned on basis of her inability to birth a baby. She feels that she isn't desirable and that if she does not get pregnant, Raman might think the same. The logic to it could be that neither have mentioned making love as a way to express love, but as means to have their own child. So Shagun's words stay back, and unfortunately create a misunderstanding. Every human being is allowed to think right and wrong, impulsively and intelligently as they wish. It's human to do so.

Coming to Raman - the same applies. Just because Ishita has always proven how different she is to Shagun, does not mean the man cannot get insecure ever again. The situation he is in right now, with his family fued stemming from money. His sister misunderstanding him on the basis of who he assigned the POA leads him to think money matters although he had started to believe that relations do not make or break because of that. So when Ashok fills in his ears and he sees Ishita dressed like that, it makes him possessive and fearful, which is again a human emotion and is out of impulse.

If I have to criticize either of them I'd just like to say.. it all comes back to the same thing. The freaking timing. Ishita could have felt the way she does if Raman hadn't made so many moves, and hadn't repeatedly expressed how much he loves and respects her as a wife, lover, friend, well wisher. If she's just a governess will she be the one he would secure first when he thinks he's going to die? After all the words spoken and moments shared, Ishita considering herself as caretaker, if too late for a track. BAD TIMING.

Same goes for Raman. After all that Ishita has done, and that Shagun never could or never did. It has time and again been proven that Ishita is nothing like Shagun when it comes to being a wife, mother, DIL or woman. So Raman even remotely thinking that way makes no sense because in this year and a half he himself has shouted from roof tops proving the same. And that even when they weren't in love and just some months into a marriage of compromise.

The creatives sure know how to botch good tracks and mature concepts with their bad timing.

Anku - feel free to vent! You've read & kindly replied to tons of my rambling. 😳 Plus, I know when you vent it's not against a character because you are pretty fair in criticizing all of them. 😃

I haven't watched yet (b/c I'm so behind I'm just now watching episode 500)...but I'm sure I'll have a stronger reaction once I watch.

They have demeaned the role sex in marriage thus far, and I hope that while what they are showing is BEYOND asinine...they are trying to salvage the fact sex is not just for reproduction. Couples have sex as an action of love.

I don't like the fact they made Ishita come off as incredibly aloof & naive (especially for an educated dentist), but I give her the benefit of the doubt that when you feel insecure & cornered - it's hard to stay objective. For her, she tried to get intimate with Raman but he avoided her thanks to his sickness. Plus they've constant had Raman link sex & babies...so it could be all confusion. But this is also like me talking myself down from some of Raman's stupid anger outbursts.

With news of the horrible surrogacy - I've become more immune to their nonsense. 😆

But rant away - b/c in all honesty, it is incredibly incredibly silly to have Ishita voice that she feels like a governess & sex isn't needed between her & Raman. Had she said this even around her anniversary...it wouldn't have felt so off. Unfortunately, they weren't going to give us the big C back then...so anything to prolong the C...

Oh I didn't see your reply, so I anyway vented on another post 😆

But to this post I'd just like to add that I can't agree anymore when it comes to them making sex such a big deal by mentioning it only when it comes to making babies. And if they do not conclude this track by discussing otherwise, it will give a very wrong meaning.

Okay so I see a lot of conflict regarding today and especially Ishita' words and actions but probaby minority here, or even a lone ranger but I loved the episode and liked it that there was actually a conversation today about the need of intimacy between a couple, the importance of sex in a marriage sans the baby making that is a byproduct of it.

Maybe because it came from Shagun it sounded all kinds of wrong and weird and stuff, but the talk was very much needed and if Shagun had to be the one to not mince words so be it. She had already once taunted Ishita about this back when she was made to leave the Bhalla home; the only difference is then the motive was to demean her and tonight it was to motivate her, but we shant go there...

What Shagun said today though, the lines were crude, cruel and yet dripping with a harsh truth that perhaps no one could have honestly told Ishita in the family being considerate of her feelings.

Lets break down some of the core things which she said - she spoke about love needing an expression beyond just saying the words I love you, that it has to be shown and that is as bold as it could get in this slot...but a reality - the words are spoken between the duo effortlessly but when it comes to expressing that love, in the realm of a physical plane, there' no movement there. Raman speaks about wanting to have a baby with Ishita but has it not struck him that to get his wife pregnant while he does need medicine and science, but he has to do something too and the only times he gets aroused to want wifey is when people are around, when they are all alone he's a monk. When Ishita dressed in that gown both the times she meant to take her relationship to the next level with Raman, but the first they fought and then the family was there and the next time he was under the stupid illusion he is gonna die...but what about after all of that and even before his hypochondria?

These two have had enough time to consummate the relationship but nothing has happened so far, Ishita has NEVER once backed off whenever Raman has approached her - be it holi or the night he wanted to steal those papers, she even shed her inhibitions and walked out in only a shirt for him. She wore the gown he wanted to see her in Mumbai, back home since she couldnt do it then, fulfill his request due to the presence of the family...yes Ishita knows Raman desires her...but there' enough evidence to also support the fact that he has despite all his talks and all her willingness not made a move that is concrete.

It has been said and asked enough times already - what do they do at nights? Raman might have wanted to plan something special for her and all and failed twice - once on the night when they brought Shagun and Adi home, Ishita was not backing off then when she learned his intentions nor later, the night the earthquake happened...but in between these two events and after the latter too, there was no lack of oppurtunities for the couple, Ishita has never demanded Raman has to book a villa or a maharaja suite or any other thing as a condition for them to go ahead, she has been waiting for him to make the move. When she got enough courage to take the initiative he backed off and even made that comment about wearing proper clothes.

And the last barb about Raman not wanting her as a woman...that was in a way bang on too...since Ishita had to move out of the comfort zone of a wife, a mother and a friend to take the bull by the horns so to speak and approach this front as a woman...take charge of her sexuality and that of her husband' by extension for them to finally make a breakthrough in their sex life...

Hey Aani.😃 Wonderful perspective to see the episode. I like your point of view, accept it and now my thought process regarding the situation is broadened. But it will matter more when this comes off similarly from the episode If tomorrow ishita thinks about these situations, I will applaud the writers. But since they keep conversations or insight to characters thought process so minimal. It is always left to us to remove our own meanings.

But you're the right about one thing the most, that IshRa needed a reality check when it comes to their physical relation. Although that it comes from Shagun is another matter I choose not to delve into.

Aani I agree with everything you said. I too loved the episode. Yes, Shagun sucks but if anyone could get under Ishita's skin and really affect her, then it's Shagun- the woman who bore Raman his children, the woman who Raman was intimate with, the woman whom Raman loved.

Haven't watched the episode yet, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't shocked (in the least) to read that Shagun tried to motivate Ishita to take her relationship to the next level by mocking her. Shagun wanting IshRa to consummate is something I can never digest.
Loved Aani's take on the episode though. All the more eager to watch it now 😳
