This is an IshRaRu SS - not sure how many parts...hope you like my idea. Looking forward to the comments. There are flashbacks to and from the present day and years back...I hope this has been written well, please let me know if this isn't working ok...thanks 😊
I did originally start this for the PicOSThon but then it led to a totally different story so have decided to post this as a separate thing...will be doing another OS soon for the PicOSThon on Pic 31...
The setting of this story is London and India. It will be telling the story of how IshRa met. In the story Ruhi is IshRa's daughter.
Here are some of the other characters in the story...
Rajiv is Mr Tandon from the show - he is a classmate of Raman's
Sonia is Mrs Tandon from the show (I couldn't remember her name so have called her Sonia) - she is a housemate of Ishita's
Raman and Ishita in the flashback are studying in England, Ishita is studying Dentistry in her second year of a 5 year course (she is 19 years old) and Raman is studying Business Management, final year of a 4 year course (he is 22 years old) They are both at the same university and met through their mutual friends Rajiv and Sonia, this is the story of how they became IshRa.
The Khatti Meethi' song came to mind when thinking of a title so have gone with that...here are the lyrics of the song and the YouTube video to get you in the mood for my SS...enjoy :)

Aree yeh pagal madrassan kaha reh gaya...? Humesha late aati hain..!"
"Aree where is this mad madrassan...? She's always coming late...!"
Raman was waiting outside the restaurant with Ruhi, the three of them were having a celebratory meal out tonight for Ishita and Raman's wedding anniversary.
Raman - "Itne saal hogaya par yeh aadat nahi badli!"
Raman - "it's been so many years but still this habit hasn't changed!"
Ruhi - "Papa, aap kya bar bara re ho akele main? Ishimaa ki burayi kar rahi hain app?"
Ruhi - "Papa what are you mumbling to yourself? Are you saying bad things about Ishimaa?"
Ruhi wagged her finger at her papa "Yeh acchi baat nahin hain Papa, Ishimaa clinic main phas gayi hogi.."
"This is not a good thing Papa, Ishima is probably stuck at the clinic..."
Raman - "Huh, huh, Ishimaa ki chamchi, app to hamesha app ki Ishima ki side leti ho, par app nahi janti, woh yeh sab mujhe tang karne ke liye karti hain"
Raman - "Yes, yes Ishimaa's golden girl, you always take Ishimaa's side but you don't know she always does this to annoy me"
Ruhi smiled and looked at her Papa, she loved her Papa the most, he was her most favourite person. She loved spending time with him and her Ishimaa knew this too so was always late so her cutesy Ruhi could spend time with her Papa. This was a secret pact between mother and daughter that had been going on since the day Ruhi was born.
Raman and Ruhi were sitting outside the restaurant on a bench, it was early evening and the streets were busy with people returning home from work and going out with their loved ones.
Ruhi - "Aaj app or Ishimaa ki 8th year anniversary hain na?"
Ruhi - "it's your 8th anniversary today right?"
Raman nodded his head, Ruhi came closer to her papa.
Ruhi - "Tell me the story of how you met and how your love story happened"
Raman - "Oh no, Ruhi beta, how many times have you heard this story? Your Ishimaa will be coming soon, there is no time for that story now"
Ruhi looked up at her Papa and made her pouty face "Oh, pleeeaassseee Papa, you know how much I love hearing about you and Ishimaa when you were younger and how you met and everything. Ishimaa will be a while yet and she can join in the story when she comes, it ok na...?"
Raman couldn't say no to his princess especially when she looked at him with her big eyes.
Raman - "Ok baba, only because I know your Ishimaa will not be coming soon and also what else can we do to pass the time, I am fed up watching people go by..."
Ruhi jumped up and kissed her papa on the cheek "Yay, meri papa is the best!"
Raman smiles and lifts Ruhi on his lap puts his arm around her and starts to tell the story of how he met Ishita...
Flashback...12 years ago...London...
Raman - "Aree yeh pagal madrassan kaha reh gayi, hamesha late aati hain!"
"Aree where is this mad madrassan...? She's always coming late...!"
Ishita - "Raman, tum hamesha ek hi line kehte ho, koi nayi dialogue kaho na!"
Ishita - "Raman, you always use the same line, find a new dialogue, na!"
Raman turned around to see Ishita standing behind him arms folded with a big smile her her face. They were going to see the new Spider-Man movie at the IMAX Cinema and as always Raman was waiting for Ishita!
Raman - "Nayi dialogue kyun waste karun, tum to hamesha same harkatein karti ho, what's the excuse this time?"
Raman - "Why waste new dialogues as you always do the same thing over and over, what's the excuse this time?"
Ishita thought to herself - "Raman is right I am always late for everything, however much I try and leave early koi na koi reason main late hoti hoon!"
Ishita - "Raman is right I am always late for everything, however much I try and leave early for some reason or another I always end up being late!"
Ishita was trying to think of a reason but luckily got it interrupted by Rajiv rushing up to them..
Rajiv - "Hey Ishita tum aagaya, me and Sonia are already inside in our seats, you two come on the movie is about to start!"
Rajiv - "Hey Ishita you have finally come,, me and Sonia are already inside in our seats, you two come on the movie is about to start!"
Rajiv grabbed both Ishita and Raman by the arms and took them inside the cinema.
Sonia - "Tum dono kaha te, itne der laga di, the movies about to start, come sit.."
Sonia - "Where were the two of you, you took so long to come, the movies about to start, come sit.."
Raman - "Main to kabse ready ta Sonia, tum tumari saheli Ishita ko pucho.."
Raman - "I've been ready for ages, Sonia, you should ask your friend Ishita.."
Sonia looked at Rajiv and smiled, "Tum dono to hamesha kuch na kuch baat ki liye jagaad na hoti hain!"
Sonia - "You two are always arguing about something!"
They all sat down, the girls were in the middle whilst the boys sat at the ends, the cinema was packed full of students from their university. A whole group had come down from campus to spend the day in London, the first year final exams were over and it was time to relax.
After the movie, the foursome met up with some other friends and went out to dinner.
Raman - "Come on Ishita decide karo na kya kaaogi...it's not that hard too choose!"
Raman - Come on Ishita decide what you are going to eat...it's not that hard to choose!"
The waiter was at their table taking everyone's order, Ishita was still deciding. There was so much choice, she didn't know what she felt like eating!
Raman - "Here let me order for you, I think after all this time I know what you like, you always end up ordering the same thing don't know why you even bother to look at the menu!"
Raman looked at the waiter, "Miss will have the tomato soup for starters and scampi with new potatoes and vegetables for main...thank you"
Ishita - "Actually, please don't listen to him, I will have...errrmmm..."
Ishita was trying to see something else she could order but actually what Raman had ordered was exactly right, but she couldn't let him think that!
Ishita - "I will have the prawn cocktail for starters and chicken stir fry noodles for main, thank you"
She glared at Raman and turned to talk to Sonia.
Raman - "Nice to see you try something new for once, otherwise hamesha same things karti ho, kaati ho, pehente ho, tum kitni boring ho yaar...must be my influence rubbing off on you, trying new things and all!"
Raman - "Nice to see you try something new for once, otherwise you always do the same things, eat the same things, wear the same things, you are so boring yaar...must be my influence rubbing off on you, trying new things and all!"
Raman grinned at Ishita and pinched her arm.
Rajiv - "Yeh lo, yeh dono phir se churu kar diya...!"
Rajiv - "Oh look, they have both started again...!"
Sonia - "anyone would think they were a married couple the way they fight, hain na sweetheart?" Sonia moved closer to Rajiv and put her arm in his and laid her head on his shoulder.
Ishita - "Seriously Sonia, I feel sorry for the girl who marries Raman, she will have to put up with all that attitude. I will have to fill her in on everything so she can survive his wrath!"
Raman - "Well at least I will have a girl, I am not sure any sane minded guy would want to live with you forever and always!"
Sonia and Rajiv - "ok, ok baba, ab bas karo na!"
Sonia and Rajiv - "Ok, ok baba, now please stop!"
Rajiv -" Tum dono ko yeh fight to everyday hota hain, aaj raat ka kya plan hain?"
Rajiv - "This fight is an everyday affair for you two, what's the plan for tonight?"
Sonia - "Rajiv is right, what are we doing after dinner, shall we go back to campus or stay here in London? We could stay at my uncles place, I have the key and he is out of the country at the moment and said I could stay there anytime if I wanted...what do you think?"
Raman and Ishita - "That's a superb idea, let's do it!"
Sonia and Rajiv looked at each other and laughed...Rajiv - "Wow this is a first, better call the Guiness Book of Records...!"
Ishita and Raman looked at each other confused "Kyun, kya ho gaya?"
Ishita and Raman - "Why what happened?"
Sonia -" Rajiv, you are so right, it's amazing you two agreeing on something and that together at the same time!"
Sonia pulled both their cheeks "Kitne pyaari ho tum dono, you would be so cute as a couple, hain na Rajiv?"
Sonia - "You two are so sweet, you would be so cute as a couple isn't that right Rajiv?"
Raman and a Ishita looked at each other and made faces "As if, not even if he/she was the last person alive!"
Sonia and Rajiv couldn't help but laugh at their 2 best friends. This foursome group had been together for the past 2 years since Ishita and Sonia had started at the university. Raman and Rajiv were just starting their second year of their 4 year course, it was Fresher's week and they were helping at the overseas students stand. Rajiv saw Sonia and it was love at first sight for him, whereas with Raman and Ishita it was the total opposite!
...Sept 2000...
Rajiv was talking with Sonia telling her all about the activities and help available to overseas students, Raman was also chatting with a new student when Ishita interrupted Raman's conversation..."Can you tell me who I speak with about getting help with course material expenses?"
Raman looked up annoyed, he hated being interrupted and especially in such a rude manner.."Do you mind Miss, there is a queue for questions, everyone must wait their turn". He turned back to the student he was talking to.."Sorry about that, some people just don't have manners...as I was saying, me and my Rajiv organise trips.."
Ishita - "I was just asking a quick question, I have been waiting here for so long, you have been talking and talking to the same person for over half an hour now and I am getting fed up of waiting!"
Raman continued his conversation with the student, ignoring Ishita.
Ishita "Excuse me, I am talking to you, can you hear me, or do you not understand English?" Ishita had raised her voice quite loud and everyone suddenly fell silent, Raman walked towards Ishita grabbed her arm and took to the side of the room, pushed her to the pillar, holding her arm he inched closer to her face "how dare you speak to me like that, who do you think you are! This is not a India sweetheart where you can raise your voice and get things done. This is England where politeness and respect is what everyone practises!"
Ishita tried to free her arm but couldn't, she stamped on Raman's toe "How dare you come this close to me, must I remind you that you are not in India where this kind of behaviour is ignored, I can report you to the police for sexual harassment. Now let go of me!"
Raman flinched as Ishita's heel pushed down hard on his toes, he let go of her arm immediately and stepped back, Rajiv and Sonia came running.
Rajiv - "Raman, yeh kiya hain. Tum iss ladki ko chilla kyun rahi hain?"
Rajiv- "Raman, what is this. Why are you shouting at this girl?"
Sonia - "Ishita are you ok, is this guy bothering you?"
Ishita - "Aree nahi yaar, I was just teaching him some manners, have you got all the information you need let's go..."
Ishita grabbed Sonia's arm and walked off.
Raman - " Some people shouldn't be allowed out of India, they are an embarrassment to our country"
Rajiv looked at Sonia and Ishita walking away "Aree phir se jaagda churu kiya, aaj ek ladki se. I was just getting to know Sonia yaar, she is so sweet, I think I am in love..."
Rajiv - "Aree, you started another fight, this time with a girl. I was just getting to know Sonia, yaar, she is so sweet, I think I am in love..."
Raman -"tu bi na, you fall in and out of love as much as the weather changes here in England! Come on let's go!"
After this first meeting, Rajiv and Sonia got together and so Raman and Ishita to their annoyance had to hang out too. They fought most of the time but after some time became friends.
...back to present day...
Ruhi - "Aap stop kyun hogaya Papa, please continue it's getting to the best part now...pleasessee..!"
Ruhi - "why did you stop Papa, please continue it's getting to the best part now...pleeeaassseee..!"
Raman - "it's getting cold beta, let's go inside and wait for your Ishimaa"
Raman picked up Ruhi in his arms and went inside the restaurant to the lobby area. His phoned beeped, "This will be Ishita saying she is coming.." He looked at his phone and was right, the message was from Ishita "I have got stuck with a patient will be there very soon. I am so so sorry. Will make it up to you later ;)"
Ruhi - "Ishimaa ki text hain?"
Ruhi - "It's a text from Ishmaa?"
Raman - "Huh beta, or kiska hoga. And as usual she is stuck with a patient and will come as soon as she can"
Raman - "Yes beta, who else would it be. And as usual she is stuck with a patient and will come as soon as she can"
Ruhi - "Toh phir app story continue karo na Papa..."
Ruhi - "So continue the story Papa.."
Raman - " Ok beta...where was I..?"
Ruhi - "You were saying about the trip to London and your first meeting with Ishimaa, this was your first fight too right Papa?"
Raman - "oh yes, well aap ki Ishimaa to hamesha kaatne ke liye doudti hai that's nothing new!"
Raman - "oh yes, well your Ishimaa is always ready to bite and run, that's nothing new!"
...Flashback...12 years ago...London...
Ishita - "Wow Sonia, your uncles place is beautiful, who akele yahi rehte hain?"
