Transfer of Allegiance
She was knocked out... completely knocked out, as she clutched him like he was a precious toy
"I dont know if I am going to be OK" she had whispered shuddering... as uncontrollable tremors shook her body
"I agree" he said kissing her neck deeply while burying her into him...
He had to wake her at 9, she pulled the covers over and snuggled deeper... until she realized she was in her underwear... completely nude waist up... and it all came back to her...
He was behind her... blocking the sun...
"Please da 10 more minutes" she begged
"I can stay here all week II, I thought u had a job to return to"
"Smug bas***d" she cursed hoarsely, as she began coughing... he sat in bed and leaned on the headboard, his arm going over her head
"Zyaada show off mat karo I can smell the soap, u showered" she said...
she saw his long tapering fingers lay in front of her... she blushed gloriously as he turned her
She gently slithered out covering herself with a white sheet and lay on him... shutting her eyes
"I dont want to talk about it"
His arm wrapped around her form... he was cold and fresh like a morning... she was soft and tender like a kissed flower, he wore a burgundy Lacoste tee and some cargos, one leg was up..
He held her between his legs... as she shut her eyes and lay dozing... her nose under his raspy chin,
he head flopped on his shoulder like a child's, he pulled the right ear phone off and placed it in her ear, she had no idea who sang or what they sang...
She was just happy to listen to whatever he was.. as he put his left ear phone back on
She lay in the tight embrace for a half hour? in a asleep awake asleep cycle... he drew art on her back... trying to wake her up, she grabbed his hand and stilled it
He used his left hand
"I am going to sleep on the bed" she said furiously.. getting off
He cuddled apologetically...
"Have u eaten?"
"Ummm ya... at 6"
"Tum sotey hi nahi ho?"
"No I do"
"We went to bed at 1?"
"I slept a good 5 hours"
"Stay off my bed if u sleep less" she ordered
he pinned her down and climbed over moving... "Will do my best" he said softly... peeling the white sheet off as she arched..
She watched him nibble.. and tease... she she held his moist hair in a familiar hold..
Her phone rang!!
He stopped she urged him to go on doing what he was...
The ringing stopped as she groaned delighted... letting him take her hand wherever he wanted...
unescorted by her.. to explore new territories, on his torso... and south of his torso...
"U are a good teacher" she clung and whispered in his ear nipping it
"Just good?' he asked
Jerk" she gasped... as he her hand encountered something she hadnt expected
Her phone rang again...
"No da" she begged
he crushed her for a few seconds into a paste... on the bed... as he crushed his arousal... and reached with the serpent like hand to grab her phone
"Ur Dad" he said handing her the device, by then it had stopped ringing... only to start when he moved off her... she was still eager to continue so she curled up under him as close as possible
"I wont say anything about ur stubble" "I swear" she promised.. begging
Holding his face... as she stroked his whiskers with her thumbs. softly...
She answered it the third time... as he lay lay hugging her
"Hmmm"
"Are u coming home" Appa asked sternly
"Yes Pa" she said feebly
"Its Monday, dont u have to go to work?"
"Innikki I took the day off Pa"
"Where are u?" he demanded as if he didnt know
"In Jaipur" she said irritably
"I know THAT, are u staying with Baldev's relatives?'he demanded
"Umm... hmmm" she spoke half truth
"are u coming back today?"
"Yes Pa" she nodded reluctantly...
"For lunch?'
"I ll try"
He hung up... he wasnt talking to her in Delhi and he had called her now? She wondered why...
She turned away from him thoughtfully
"Hamey chalna chahiye" she said morosely
Trying to free her legs from the layers of sheets and blankets...
as she pulled a white sheet to drape herself... his burgundy tee was easy... she grabbed it and wore it hurriedly as she got off the bed in her lil dress
He was no longer in his face down position, he watched her move around packing everything up as if she would head out the door in a minute
"Get up da" she ordered
He lay and ogled..
She went to the bathroom and brushed and combed her hair into a braid and... he was switching playlists on the phone, leaning on the head board
"How long does it take?" she asked
He looked at her like "HOW did u get here on Friday?"
"I was sick and sleeping APDI PAAKADE (dont look at me like that) she yelled agitated
He shrugged "OK... I just saw u got off the wrong side of the bed" look
"So ethana time da?" (how many hours?)
"4? 5?" he said carelessly
"Ayyo!! THAT FAR? IS IT THAT FAR? U are lying... I dont believe you" she threw at him
He put his ear phones back on and grabbed a paperback from his nightstand...
She frantically yanked all the covers trying to find her clothes from last nite, shoes, his hers... everything under the bed... books, power cords...
"where are YOUR things?' she demanded, he removed his ear phone from one year with a Note to self:"cant have both on when II is around"
He tilted his head towards the closet..
she opened it... there was stuff everywhere...
She just shut it... took her clothes out and went to take her shower... opened the bathroom door and flung his tee on him
"Clean up da" she ordered
She wore a new acquistion, a red and off white ensemble... expensive and elegant...
"DO U LIKE IT?' she asked wearing her gold beads in her ear...
He shrugged smiling "Ya"
"Onn kitta poi ketene. I shud ask Akka. I should never ask you" she cursed
He smiled as she muttered leaving the room...
When they left the hotel it was Noonish...she had to EAT, he had to FINISH reading the chapter he was ON..
UNREASONABLE LAZY BUM!!
They had to buy a dozen bottles of overpriced water from the hotel... he drank water like it was alcohol...
He drank atleast 4 by the time they got to Delhi
His delay her delay, a call he had to take, she had to refuse Bally's invite for lunch...
they forgot the shopping bag she took up last night
They drove up to the spot where her Corolla parked at 6 ish...
APPA was in the balcony, he hadnt called her since morning, she had texted Amma and Akka... and Bally as they left...
She took as much as she should carry, the driver offered... R&B refused and carried half her load and nudged her to lead the way up the stairs
Her stomach churned in fear... terrified she dragged her feet...
He went ahead of her and waited by the front door...Appa had left both doors open, he set the bags on the long runner table by the wall
Took his sun glasses off... Appa appeared like a avenger... arms across his chest
"Hello" he said carelessly
"Good evening Mr Iyer" R&B said politely
He didnt take his shoes off... she held his tee and yanked, but the dude walked into the living room
And extended his hand
Appa offered his reluctantly
"Do u have a minute" he asked R&B
R&B nodded sincerely, he was completely unfazed
"Appa, we couldnt get here sooner" II's plea
"Nee po ma ulle" softly (u go on inside love) but dismissively
"Appa dont make a big deal. He brought me home... he came to check on me because I was sick...
he came because" (HE WANTED TO SEE ME?) You look and sound angry Pa, FOR NO REASON. We were in a car for FIVE bumpy hours.
Vandavana okaara kooda solla maatela (WONT U ASK THE GUY TO SIT DOWN?) II appealed
"the front door is open kanna. We can talk later" he reached and bolted the grill door and the twin wooden...
"We dont wear shoes at home" Appa pointed...
He took his velcro strap sandals off by the door
And went off to wash his hand
She chased R&B down..
" I dont know kya kahenge" she looked terrified.
"I am going to be making chai. I am not going to let him harass you" she said protectively
He leaned on the bathroom door jamb hands in his pockets looking down at her
"Warrior?" he asked with a half smile
She smiled nodding softly..."Ya, an Iyer" she chuckled at the humor of the newly discovered term...
From fighting him she had gone to fighting FOR him...
