Girl Talk

Any Sosy reader would have gone a little mushy just imagining the two with Lasya , i still havent forgotten the last one- him reading on her shoulder, her teaching her to twirl her locks such a cute site .. and this was super cute as well.. one of the things i can relate is blowing bubbles in a babies tummy thats a sure shot way to see them smile!!!
sooo cute.. and to know Lasya is going to take over her mami was AWESOME!!! and the description of what Lasya was wearing was so perfect...
my daughter never cried "much" was an angel till she turned 4 then the drama started and she compensates .. she was round and ate and slept it was gods payback because my son was the opposite gave me a hard time , of course she didnt sleep iin the night till she was 2 but i can sort of imagine a happy baby 😳. I totally loved Mrs Sachdev and R&B's comfort with her and also how R&B got what he wanted 😳 RAKSHASAN!!!!

Appas Girl

Aaw such a simple gesture and II is all gone and wants to do what appa wants ... puri kayanat can ask her to stay but she goes. i actually loved that.. and i am totally for supporting ones dad cause they do a lot for their daughters so appa ZINDABAD 😆😆 no post of mine is complete without an appa and /or Ranjan gush 🤣
R&B has no bone of "what if someone sees" even on the stair case gosh 😳😆!!! i liked how he tried to get her to stay , i liked how II responded to the cousins and poor girl must be thinking they all must have had such a nice time and all her relatives dont care and are far off ..reality is so different .. i have been to so many parties to see what looks like group of tight nit friends and me going oh how cool are these people -family outside family, only to later learn they actually give cat fights a new meaning 😆
Aah he touched appa/ammas leg sooo cute!! and every time he watches her leave in the car i have gone mushy cause for me from the beginning that shows how protective he is.. and appa noticed haan , what what what ? 😳😳

i am going to reread these a couple of times in my bed before i go down a floor with the bachas screaming whats for snacks , whats for dinner.. 😃

looks like India won YEAHHH !!!!

Anu I just stalk girls clothing in stores and buy randomly 0-12 months, 24 months, 36 months, and 3 4, 5 6 year girls' clothing... whether people like it or not I just hand it to friends with girl babies

Even my boys have caught on, when I take them to any store they will look at me and go "Mom thats so cute how come u are not getting it?"

"Yaarku da?" (For who?) I will ask they will say "U know just for YOUR stock😆"
I have a stash of new girl baby clothes in my closet for God knows who. Contrary to popular opinion, if babies are well rested and fed they just lay there kicking their legs and cooing... they dont care whos doing what they just lay there following sunshine on the ceiling or anyone passing by... they just drool and lay there🤗

Ya I was telling Taara last night... the truth is stranger than fiction in many families, I know of siblings not seeing each other for YEARS, parents not seeing their kids for years... nothing is too crazy... and Amen on the Desi politics, I live in a small all white town, the part of town I live in there is less than 20 families...none in my sub... 20 miles from where I live there are 200 Desi families I am told...
I dont bump into ANY, at grocery stores, or gym or swimming or Doc or Dentist or hair cut... NONE
There are none at my workplace either. I am spared of all the misery that comes with it, though I dont get the masti if going to their parties. Almost two decades and I actually love it this way now.
While I miss the wild partying I dont miss any of the melodrama😆

gosh one more similarily i love girl clothes too but u know the irony my daughter refused to wear cutesie clothes 😭 she wore only her brothers old clothes for 3 year😆s ...i have no reason why, i think it was karma for me cause i wanted to dress her up so badly after the first year she found indian clothes uncomfortable now we have come a lllong way.
Oh my town is full and full of desi's of all shapes and sizes and classes , i avoid them and there are cliques and cliques and tripple cliques 😆and my husband wouldnt fit any of them and so we stick with a mixed group who cant handle homogeneous crowd 😆.. and no you are so not missing the melodrama..
How sweet about ur kids its nice to grow up with the notion of giving is good .. its the main reason i host golu because my kids love to give the tambulam and ask what are we giving this time amidst all the junk they want all year round this one time they want to ensure we dont go el cheapo ...

I hang with single guys that work for various consulting companies across India that are here for 6 months to 6 years..hubs plays cricket with. most way younger but SO FUN and uncomplicated... we host antaksharis and dumb charades or plain Zee Cine Awards watching party at my place since all live in apartments and raat ko shor nahi macha sakte😆

My only interaction with the extended community is during the Navaratri and Varalakshmi Deepavali, I host at all three at home ...the boys are ready way before 6 PM and if its 6:04 and we dont have people coming they pester me " When is every body coming?" "I thought u invited people".
Since first two are on a Friday I have to tell them "Ermmm.. people have to GET HOME FROM WORK AND CHANGE"😆

I usually say on my Evite "Dress in your wedding best"
I LOVE people showing up in grand attire

Mere city mein na temple hai na shaadiyan hoti hain na kuch aur I satisfy my India urges by having people dress up whenever they come to my house😆

My hubs will say "Onna madiri rendum ponna porandu irukkanum, they are too social and love partying too much, shoulda been girls"😳

On giving? yes both are miles ahead in giving the shirt off their backs...my parents say "they must learn that from their parents, as both are terrible savers"😆 Life is too short to hoard money

I have heard about all the drama GC... i entertain A LOT but mostly people hubs gets along with... not family types...I can get along with anybody...
I live a insulated sterile life inside a gora bubble, between Jan- August I dont even see Desis for months sometimes, come Ganpati I see more than needed at community events and until Deepavali.

To satisfy my urge to be a Desi I wear salwar suits and bindi to work, swim lessons, grocery shopping... movie dates with girl friends... and answer questions like

"Which country are you from?"
"what are you wearing on your forehead?"
"Why are u dressed like that?"
"Where is India?"
"are there snake charmers in India?"

NO I AM NOT KIDDING... I get the above ALL the time😃

Curry Favor☺️

She texted him Friday around midnight
"Are you up?" he didnt respond...
She assumed he was busy playing poker and then went to bed, when she woke at 5 ish she checked her texts...
there was no response from him... no half smile no full smile or nothing, she got off the bed and paced her room first and then stepped out after brushing her teeth
Her parents were asleep!!! She made herself some coffee and sat on the pod swing... and texted him
"Abhi tak so rahe ho?"
She drank her coffee, spotted the newspaper boy threatened him with dire consequences if he didnt deliver to her first, ordered a couple extra mags
And took them to Periappa's room to read, announced Kejriwal's big win... explained how it all happened to the old half asleep man.

Made the nurse some tea, made periappa her best coffee, and took it to him, helped him up and fed him slowly... helped change his shirt...
It was around 7 her parents were still not up, if it had been any other time she would have woken them up, but still couldnt bring herself to now,
considering Appa's reaction to the wedding news. She would usually wake Appa kick him out of bed, her parents usually woke at 5:30 or 6 every day
On days she woke that early she would kick him out of bed cuddle up by Amma and tell her all the office politics
"Love marriages"
"Secret and open crushes"
Amma would roll her eyes and listen to it all
Amma in turn will share family politics and politics from Akka's family
They would do girl talk until Appa came for the 2nd or 3rd time to sternly scold Amma to get up
"Nee thachukko kanna for a couple more hours (u sleep my love, I want Amma to get up)
Amma would sulk getting up but scold her "U shud wake up too, which husband will like if u lay in bed until 10?"
"I will first ask him if I am allowed to sleep until 10 on weekends and then say yes to him"
"Then look forward to staying with us until we pass" she would say dryly and go off into the bathroom

Appa hadnt said much to her after returning, they seemed to be talking for hours after returning
Between Amma and Appa she had heard the following remarks, on the way home and after returning, readying for bed:
"Chacha's family seems equally affluent"
"Seema is pretty but making it big in Bollywood is difficult"
"They have 24 cars it seems Ranjan's brother was saying
"Ranjan's brother manages the workshops and everything else, since this boy doesnt care
"Chachi doesnt seem like she is close to Ranjan's kids"
"The kids are cute"
"Chachi said, we are "Service class"
"Punjabi boys are very loud and boisterous, they were making a lot of noise on the 2nd floor"
"Will Ishita have to cook for all when they visit?"
"We cannot compete with those daughter in laws in giving Ishita jewelry or anything else"
"They look and sound like Punjabis, lot of talking in Punjabi, I feel Ishita is going to be a fish out of water
"Tanmay ans Sam are so refined and polished"
"Ranjan seems to like Ishita a lot"
"Bala and Tanmay seem to be getting close, Tanmay is very polite to Bala"
"R&B never talks"
"R&B only said two sentences to me"
"R&B just observes"
"R&B never hung with our daughter"
"All couples were together mostly, only our daughter was with women"
"Vandita loves R&B she teases him a lot"
"Doesnt he have any other friends other than Mihir?"
"How will she survive with no friends?"
"Do they eat meat every day?"

She read the newspaper until 8 AM or afer until Amma showed...
She smiled startled seeing her baby awake and reading
"Why didnt u wake me kanna?"
"Umm I thought u were sleeping"
"Is Appa awake?"
"Yes he just got up, pooja everything is now late today" Amma worried making coffee
"Amma where are we going to today?" II asked eager like a child
"South Ex, Janakpuri and Connaught Place?" "If time permits Karol Bagh"
"Yayyy"
II was a shopper, she didnt care who or what she liked to be out with her Mom on weekends...

She came back to the living room to check her texts at 11 and Noon, NOT ONE FROM HIM

"I wanted to ask you if it would be OK if I sleep in until 10 on weekends? I am hoping it will be since u sleep too"

HE DIDNT RESPOND

II spent her day moping in private...
not half as cheerful through the trip, drove everywhere, over 150 kms in 9 hours, fighting Saturday traffic on Ring Road.
Returned with atleast 40 bags, maybe more
Appa was too tired he refused dinner, asked for Horlicks and went to change
Amma and II had eaten chaat at South Ext at 7 they werent hungry either

She had sent pictures of sarees all day to him she hadnt heard once
She called twice and left voice mails

There was a English sentence and a French, JUST TWO sentences with a Thank you and "Merci" at the end

"Baat nahi karogey?" she asked bummed once
"Hum South Ex mein hain, do u want to join us for lunch. I can offer Shravu as a one day reward?"

She cried in the shower at night... cursed and bitched... sulking...
"Appa wanted us to come home I MEAN APPA SPOKE TO ME AND ASKED ME. I TOLD U I WILL COME BACK LATER. ITNA GUSAA?"
"I DONT CARE, mat karo baat" "I dont care I will just go to work on Monday, as if nothing happened"
"rakshasan!! Thats what YOU are"

She stayed up Saturday night reading the How to get from a No to a Yes book... and random magazines and stayped up until 4 AM
Cried some more in frustration and slept until 9

"I have to go to work Ma" she declared as she got up
"WHY? We can go to the press in Munirka for the cards, and go to Natesan Mama's he is sick and wanted to see you before his bypass"
"amma please I have a lot of work" she said gloomy

She was ready by 10, in a gorgeous pink chikan suit, with a chudidaar, and a purple jaipuri dupatta...
dressed very carefully in giant oxidized silver jhumkas and smoky kajal eyes...she wore a oxidized silver flower for a nose ring

Refused breakfast, Amma looked at her oddly wondering what was wrong, she didnt look happy yesterday or today...
She would call Vandu to enquire... worrying

"wedding three weeks away, these days youngsters call it off the day before the wedding"
Amma's stomach knotted up painfully

II instead of turning South on Sardar Patel Marg at Dhaula Kuan she turned North towards Chanakyapuri drove all the way to Malcha Marg and turned right...
The gates were closed... she pulled over by the compund wall and got off... her hair still wet, giving her chills on the breezy Feb morning
The guards immediately saluted and unlocked the door with some fancy combination... the automatic door swung, "Gaadi andar laga deejiye"
"She said "No"
And went up to the huge oak door.. and knocked Mahavir opened
She turned to the drive way BOTH cars were there "SHITTT" she muttered on seeing Ranjan's
"Ummm.."
Mahavir was all smiles..
He stepped back she walked in
"Ummm"
"Kuch bhool gaye kya?" Minion ...inquiring worriedly🤣
SMUG bas***d LIKE HIS BOSS!!!😭

YOUR BOSS DA HE HAS FORGOTTEN "ME"
I HAVENT FORGOTEEN ANYTHING. DO NOT GET SMART WITH ME
HE IS A RAKSHASAN AND SO ARE YOU ALL
"Woh R&B uth gaye?"

"Abhi to nahi Maam, kal poker tha subah 2 ya 3 baje tak"

"Kitchen dikhayenge?" she smiled softly
"Jee zaroor" he grinned
