Mr Bhalla did not say a word to Ishita. All the talking was done by Simmi and Toshiji. Miffed at Toshi's crass comments is understandable. Simmi, is the real victim here, so honestly having her defend her husband is almost expected.
Mr. Bhalla had his daughter and her life on one hand to consider and a son in law who had so far been ideal in their eyes and a daughter in law who had not confided before, but now stood as accused of harassing Parmeet instead of the other way round. I don't know what any man would do, if not stand in silence and take time off to figure it all out.
Her family, gave bhashans, but nor Mr.Iyer, nor the fiery Bala conduct an investigation to prove her guilt-free. They just expected the bhallas to believe their DIL instead of their SIL who they have clearly known for longer. I mean, if the tables were turned on them, I wonder how they would react to Bala being accused versus him accusing their DIL.
It's not just Ishita's and a woman's POV here, one has to see it from everyone who had something at stake, especially more sensible minded Raman and Mr. Bhalla. Romi, too, stood mute, and did not react except to stop Simmi from attacking Ishita. Mihika, on the other hand was ready to go sound them off, without knowing any facts of the matter. So, when it comes to choosing between two members of your own family, it is a different POV, and when it is simply trusting your daughter over another man is a different POV. Just my opinion, no offence to anyone.
