As per this video the female lead says the character Ishita is from tamil brahmin family...but when we look into the latest promo of this show which features Mrs.Iyer (Amma) having a telugu newspaper and reading about some matrimony ad or what ever...
so from this i feel something fishy about the region where actually Iyer family belongs to either Tamil or Telugu...think cv's are not sure about the character portray of Iyer family...
we can also take this as a blooper but i dont think the show makers will be so half-witted to make such a blunder by giving a telugu newspaper to a tamil character...so obviously we cant take it as a blooper...
so im sure tat cvs are in dilemma whether to show the iyer family as tamil or telugu...hope they will come out of this confusion soon...
btw the show seems to be promising with a good start👏...except this language confusion which is bothering me...want cv's to show a neat tamil family or a clear telugu family NOT the mixing of both creating a fishy situation...

They are Tamilains ,they speak tamil. The newspaper , it must be a blooper , or may be cvs didn't research and mistook Telugu for tamil.

is that so? I neither understand Tamil nor Telugu so m facing some problems deciphering their words when they use regional languages occasionally ... but m enjoying this...
Finally Ekta got over Punjabi, Bengali, Rajasthani culture dominated shows... I liked the Upnayan function they showed.. was new for me...

There are many things that are not authentic about Ishita's family, including her name! Ishita is not at all a traditional south-indian name...but its okay, cause its a lovely name anyway!
Also, it is show that in the Iyer's kitchen, there are aluminium utensils...but most south-indian famililes if not all, will only use steel utensils, not even glass and crockery!
Also, the Upanaynam Function had a couple of glitches, the priests and women doing rounds of the fire never happens during the ceremony.
But other than that, I think its laudable that Ekta has finally broken free of the North-Indian/Marathi/Gujrati backdrop and has tried something new! Plus, the very concept of a Punjabi guy and Tamil girl is so cute!
I for one am looking forward to Mrs. Bhalla and Mrs. Iyer's reaction to their respective kids romancing each other!😆
Overall, I like the way the creatives are showing the essential difference between Tamilians and Punjabi's...Tamilians are by nature quiet, reserved and generally don't like mingling with other people so freely, while Punjabi's by and large are friendly, boisterious and sort of loud!

Btw, a Tamil newspaper or even a Telgu newspaper is even more strange, because nowhere in Delhi are you going to get one!😆 Certainly not at your doorsteps!

i agree with u there has been li'l flaws in portraying a south indian tamil family...
yeah in Upanayanam ceremony they have included some dramatic scenes of women doing rounds and all...but it was a very good effort by the show makers for showing such ceremony which i have not seen in any hindi soaps...
