First time Ranchod was brought to Swarn Bhawan by Abha because Karan met with an accident in mumbai and he was missing.Abha understood that all this were the plan of yashodhara maasi to get SB.Maasi managed to get the release papers signed by karan ,threatening that prathibha was in her custody and she will harm her if he does not sign it,before trying to kill karan. Once karan is dead the SB will belong to masi as there is no news about Ranchod Tiwari mentioned in the will.so she does all this . In order to stop maasi abha brought ranchod as karan to SB as he was the lookalike of karan (nobody then knew that ranchod was the judwa brother of karan)

Karan's dadi died because she got a shock and was feeling very weak yet she went to the mandir to meet pratibha and ranjit saw her coming and stopped her at the stairs and pushed her down she got hurt badely and died there.
