Warmest greeting to all,
Dil se thanks for the organizers for their hard efforts and to the singers for sharing with us their sweet voices sung from their even sweeter hearts. It was a pleasure and an honour.
I have no technical knowledge (any help in this respect would be very much appreciated😳) so any attempt to speak as such is most likely filled with errors and I may even be tone deaf BUT it is all done with much love and sincerity.
With much love Sabah 10 being my highest mark and 1 my lowest. 😳 10 being Sonu, Krishna, Kay Kay or Shreya and 1 being, well me. 😳
Entry number 1, Kuch kum. 7The singer caught the undulations perfectly within the melodies and added that wonderful tone needed to enhance certain lyrics. For instance that undulation @0:26, that softness for hawa @0:31, the yearning tone for khwaishein @0:34 to 0:36. Again seen again @4:53 to 4:56, for
yeh waqt aaise, Wonderful!
The singer has a crisp voice so that each word is clear and never slurs or blurs lyrics, lines or the beat of the melody so that the final result is very polished even during that difficult faster pace!
He caught that sharpness of kuch kum @2:51 without it sounding abrupt. My favourite part was from 3:11 to 3:24, each line fading away like a breeze, that halka sa tone without it ever becoming husky or fuzzy. Excellent!
Entry number 2 bachana 5The singer's soft voice enhances the tone of this song wonderfully. I love that his voice though slightly husky and soft is also strong and able to maintain long notes well. In my opinion though the best aspect of his voice is his ability to emote so that we feel truthful intensity of these passionate lyrics. For instance @ Well sung!

I loved this singer's beautiful voice. Her voice is sultry and enchanting. To sing such a fast paced song acoustically showcases her mastering of this art. She caught the melody PERFECTLY, and I was very much impressed! I loved that part @1:22 chan meri loote...to 1:28, emoted brilliantly!
It was truly a beautifully sung. I enjoyed it very much.

This singer has been blessed with a beautiful voice. That line from 0:53 to 1:06 pyar... is such mesmerizing, I rewound and played it so many times, by heart just wanted to listen to it again. Just beautiful! 😳

It is always difficult to sing popular songs because you will undoubtedly be compared to the original singer's rendition. However this singer made this song her own. I loved the peppy nature of her voice as well as that ability to sing at a high pitch without it sounding out of tune. However what impressed me the most was her ability to sing this song! It is so fast, with lines flowing on and on, so that it takes a skilled and trained voice to even attempt it. Just remarkably done!
Entry number 6 9Again another singer with an amazing voice! I loved this song and I must say that this rendition is one of the best that I have ever heard. That difficult portion from 0:24 to 0:32 was flawless and that flow at 0:33 was seamless. Just an exceptional rendition!
Entry number 7 9I loved this song, obviously another rendition by entry number 3 singer but this one really showcased her ability so much more. Again that enchanting sultry tone BUT what was remarkable about this song was her ability to linger over notes, elongate slowly notes so that even though it is acoustic we can make the melody perfectly! Just beautifully sung!
Entry number 8 10I love this singer's voice. I find a sincerity of heart that just suffuses through the song. She is able to sing those undulations within notes beautifully, for instance @0:07 to 0:11. That flow @0:32 from the end of the fade out to that high pitch was perfect and very impressive! That rising pitch from 0:39 to 0:41 just awe inspiring!
I don't know the technical name for that moment @1:00 to 1:04 but she managed to sing it masterfully. That moment at 1:28, that sadness bursting out was excellently emoted. I am always in awe of singer's able to sing such high notes so strongly. Just impressive!
Considering the undulation of this song, with its dips and high pitches and that it never lets up, the singer never seems out of breath but rather keep the pace perfectly. The fact that this song is sung acoustically is just a treat too. Just an awesome performance.
Entry number 9 9Just an outstanding performance. I don't know the technical term for those nuances, those slight pausing upon a note and elongation of it, here @ 0:12, 0:20 0:27, and throughout, but they do something to my heart. It is just enchanting, ethereal effervescence. Beautiful!
Entry number 10 8I was very impressed by the choice of song. It takes courage to try something different and although this song is very difficult to sing acoustically, this song was a very admirable effort the extra point I gave for just the singer's bold venture which was spirited!

There is a something about classical songs that require a certain type of stout heart and this singer's rendition was very much dignified. That moment @0:22 to 0:23, just beautifully sung.

WOW! I mean WOW! The manner the singer caught very beat of this impossibly fast song just rivals the best singers of today. Then that smooth flow into something slower @0:09, layered with a depth of feeling. Just an impressive rendition that left me breathless!

I love sonu and really he has truly unique voice so it really was ambitious of the singer to attempt it which I applaud as well as laud his rendition for he managed to make it his own. He used the best aspects of his voice, that softness to enhance the overall ambiance and tone. Good effort, and very well sung.

Truly sweet voice. I love that bird in the background @0:13. Nice touch! I loved the singer's rendition which was polished and sung with the proper joyful sprightliness. Edited by a little faith - 14 years ago
