I looked around, people are peeking down from the open windows. Elbows rested on his knees, face buried in cup of palms, slumped shoulders and his breakdown resonated in the otherwise silent street.

People are staring. People are judging. People are disgusted. People are amused. I gazed at the keychain dangling from his denim pocket.

Quietly, very quietly, I bend in front of him. Careful enough, not to disturb him. Slowly, the keys slipped out of his pocket.

Without glancing at his defeated stance, my quivering fingers inserted the keys in my scooter. Next, I drove away. Away from disgusted stares, away from the futile pleads, away from emotional blackmail, away from him.
