"Alright, let's go through this one more time. I don't want any mistakes. Interns ke pehla din hai.. zara sambal ke kaam karna. Thank you," ordered Shashank. He wanted to make sure things went perfectly today - it was after all the interns' first day.
Abhimanyu looked cautiously at his father, wondering what was bothering him so. But Shashank knew from experience that at the last minute things could start going wrong, so he wasn't about to take any chances.
Mayank and Abhimanyu sighed remembering their first day as interns at Sanjeevani. Before Abhi could lose himself in her thoughts, he snapped out of it, deciding to help his father with the last minute preparations, leaving Mayank standing there.
Precisely at that moment, Armaan came rushing in, hurriedly putting on his coat, and pretending to be immersed in some files. Dammit, why am I here?
*flashback*
When Armaan had finally returned home the previous night, Ananya had excitedly been sitting in the family room waiting for him.
"Maa? What are you still doing up?" asked Armaan, having noticed the kitchen and family room lights still on.
"Beta, I am just so happy. The best thing happened today." "Best huh... Dad finally cut off all ties with me?" Armaan sarcastically mused. Ananya looked at her son angrily.
"Armaan! Don't talk like that about your father. And besides, it wasn't that. Guess." "Maa. Come on, I'm tired. Either tell me now, or tomorrow."
But Ananya was adamant that Armaan guess, and that too right now.
"Hmmm. Maa, I can't think. What happened today?" "Beta. You won't believe who called. Sabiha!"
Armaan stared at his mother dumbfounded, why the hell was she calling?
"Armaan, tum sunrahi ho, hai na? I'm going to see her on Monday, she wanted to spend some time with me. Isn't she sweet?" Ananya was so pleased that she didn't notice the look of distaste on Armaan's face.
"Oh wow Maa, that is great news. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to sleep," and without a second glance at his mother, Armaan bolted to his room.
What does this girl want? Meeting with my mother? Armaan couldn't fathom why his... fiance wanted to meet his mother. He slowly drifted off to sleep, thinking of her..
*end of flashback*
"Mayank, reckon the speeches will take that long? I mean, it can't take that much time to explain how serious the newbies are meant to take this?" Armaan looked hopefully at Mayank, who realised that something was not right with his friend.
In fact, if there had to be one redeeming quality about Armaan, it would be that no matter what mood he was in, he would never leave anything unfinished or unheard. So for Armaan to want the day over before it began was something else indeed.
Realising Mayank was silently scrutinising him, Armaan glared back, and made his way to the auditorium. Mayank lightly laughed and followed his friend.

"Dad, everything shall be fine. You've done this so many times, why are you stressing?"
"Beta, it's not that. But I'm sure you understand how important this day is. And considering that I am going to have half the doctors in here, I need to make sure that nothing goes wrong.. especially if one of us gets a page regarding a patient." Shashank smiled at his son, letting him process how stressful this actually was.
Finally understanding, Abhi let his father be, and walked into the auditorium... taking in the podium, the surroundings. This room... he hadn't been in here since he began his own internship. He smiled, remembering their first meeting... just outside the door; both had been running late, and so they bumped into each other, trying to get inside without making too much noise.
What he didn't know was that it looked like history would repeat itself...

At Juneja Enterprises', Prem was feeling pretty damn angry - obviously nothing had changed. Coming home late the night before had obviously been a stupid thing to do, and it seemed that his mother & Dadi's anger hadn't been appeased. Yet.
Sighing, Prem opened his emails, skimming through all the daily rubbish. He then referred to his schedule (given everyday at 9.15am promptly by his first secretary - he had three), and realised he hadn't finished going over Simran's (and Dev's) work.
He sat there and wondered what to do about it. He could be himself, call Simran in, calmly tell her off, and then send her out making her feel even worse, or... he could do a Dev and just get on with it.
Which is exactly what he did. He simply sent Simran an email, thanking her for working on this short notice, and quickly mentioned that he'd be calling a meeting in the next couple of weeks.
That being done, he went back to his new project - a new set of apartments was to be built in the prestigious area of Malabar Hill. It was an extremely large contract, and he wanted to make sure that their design would be surpassed by none.
Before he knew it, two hours had passed... and congratulations to me. I didn't even think of them once... Prem smiled, work was definitely the ultimate distraction. Not realising what it was, Prem turned back to his work, determined to make it work... make it all work.

"Alex, tell me something. Was work always meant to be this easy?" Farzana smiled, relishing the fact that every single customer she had served had been nothing but perfect. They made her job so much less stressful, and so much more interesting.
She really had a feel for this type of job, and the enthusiasm she showed was nothing less than amazing. It was rare to work with this type of person, but now that Farzana was here, Alex didn't want to let her go. She'll do for me what Marc Jacobs did for Louis Vuitton, thought Alex.
He watched her as she went around the boutique fixing up things that were already looking pretty good. Farzana herself wanted to make sure not a single thing was out of place... presentation was very important, especially in high-end boutiques like this one.
Finally satisfied with her work, Farzana turned to Alex, waiting to see what he had ready for her to complete now. She wasn't disappointed.
"Alright missy, you seemed to have achieved what no one else in this store has done yet: fixing the place up." Alex had a private laugh at his own joke - good help was so hard to find these days.
"Now I would like for you to start doing what you were hired to do - design. I'll handle the customers, you just handle your drawings. Let's begin with that suit idea you had on page 17, I do believe. I want it more than just suave... I want it screaming 'Buy me right now!'"
Without another word, Farzana scooted away to the back, ready to throw herself into her work. She turned her iTouch on, selected a song, tied her back into a messy bun, and began re-inventing her suit idea.
(Here's what Farzana was listening to)

"OH MY GOD Shilpz! We are going to be sooooo late! Remind me why I listen to you when you say shortcut?" gasped Khushboo, out of breath from running up four flights of stairs, trying to make it to the auditorium on time.
Shilpa just cracked a grin, unfazed by the time; they were there. That was the point, wasn't it?
"Shilpa, stop smiling! I swear if I get into trouble, you're going down with me," sighed Khushboo. Shilpa just waited for her friend to calm down - they were almost at the auditorium door.
Just then Khushboo's phone rang - it was Maryam. "Di? What happened, why are you calling me now?" "Boo, I hope you realise that although you have your bag-" Khushboo quickly touched her bag, double-checking.
"-you forgot your wallet at home. Now how did you manage to drive to Sanjeevani without a LICENSE?" fumed Maryam.
Khushboo gulped - in her haste to pick up Shilpa, she had forgotten her wallet on the kitchen bench, which she taken out of her bag to check for ID. Khushboo shut her eyes, trying to comprehend what she'd just achieved.
Gulping, she decided to face her sister's wrath.. when all she heard was nothing more than a sigh.
"Khush, I know you were in a rush, and I know I shouldn't be going crazy right now... but I'm sure you can imagine how worried I got knowing you didn't have your license. What if you got into an accident? What if the cops pulled you over?"
Khushboo rolled her eyes listening to her sister's lecture. But she listened anyway...
*crash*
And suddenly Khushboo was on the floor, her phone nowhere near her.
After a few moments, Khushboo realised she was on the floor. She whipped her hair back furiously, and getting herself into a sitting position, she wondered how she made it there. And then she saw him.
"Tum?"

While Khushboo was on the floor, Shilpa was finally inside the auditorium. She was amazed at how big the place was, but she wasn't worried in the slightest. She was here to become a good doctor, great if she could really put her mind to the studying they would be required to do.
She wasn't bad at studying - come on, I made it into Sanjeevani - but she got distracted easily. However, she was in a prestigious hospital and she was definitely going to make the most of it.
She asked one of the staff where the interns were to sit, and was guided to the second row. She noticed a folder on each of the seats, and found the one with her name on it. She leafed through the folder, realising she'd have to fill in the forms sometime during the week. She groaned, remembering the boring half of being a doctor - paperwork.
Sighing, she put her folder in her bag, and started doing her favourite thing when she was bored out of her mind - people watching. She smiled slightly as she saw the nurses running around, trying to get last minute things handled; the admin being told to guide people to their seats; some of the other doctors grumbling about everything running on time - Shilpa was surprised, they were complaining about being punctual?
Watching other people made Shilpa forget her surroundings, and it wasn't until someone sat next to her that she realised where she was. She blushed slightly, and turned to the person next to her, and almost lost her breath.
Sitting next to her was an unbelievably good looking guy, with an intense stare, shaggy hair and a slight smirk. Bad boy much? Shilpa quickly turned back towards the front, and smiled. Yep, Sanjeevani was the place to be.
"Hi, I'm Yuvraaj... and you're a pretty lady. That's all I need to know," smiled the gorgeous guy. Shilpa's heartbeat went up a notch. Hot and smooth - Shilpa was definitely having a great day.
"Pretty lady it shall remain then... but in front of the staff and patients, I'm Shilpa," she replied grinning. Yuvraaj grinned back, satisfied with her response. She then looked up to see two more people come and sit next to her & Yuvraaj.
"Hi, this is where the interns sit, right? See Sid, maine kaha tha. But as usual," argued a pretty girl wearing a pink churidar combination. The guy standing next to her - Sid - simply rolled his eyes, as if accustomed to her behaviour.
"Sweetie, you were right. Now can we sit down?" Sid smiled, and made her sit down. She sat next to Yuvraaj, and looked enquiringly at Shilpa.
"Hi, I'm Tamanna, aur aap?" "Oh, I'm Shilpa, nice to meet you. I'm assuming that's your close friend or boyfriend?"
Sid and Tamanna looked quite surprised at Shilpa's quick deduction, and smiled softly. "That's right, I'm Siddhant Gupta urf Sid... new intern and old boyfriend of Tamanna Rai."
Tamanna looked at Sid with a raised eyebrow - old? Sid coughed, and shook hands with Yuvraaj. Shilpa watched the interaction with a smile, they all seemed pretty cool people. Khushboo would definitely get along with Sid, she mused.
And then she realised - where was Khushboo anyway? She turned to her other side, and begam worrying. She quickly said she'd be right back, and walked to the entrance of the auditorium.

"Do you have any idea what you're doing?" yelled Abhimayu. Khushboo stared at him, still on the floor. Instead of helping her up, Abhi had gotten himself up and dusted himself off. He looked in distaste at her on the floor, and couldn't see anything else but red.
"Do you have any idea where you're walking?" called out Khushboo in anger as Abhi had turned away from her. Abhimanyu turned around, pausing as he saw Khushboo furiously push her hair out of her face... just like her.
Abhi became lost in memoried as he saw her reaction to being pushed onto the floor. Not realising what he was doing, Abhimanyu picked up her phone, and handed it to her, a mixture of a smile and bewilderment on his handsome face.
Khushboo stared at Abhimanyu shocked - he was helping her up? Didn't he just yell at her thirty seconds ago? Completely silent, Khushboo accepted her phone just as bewildered as he was. She wondered if Abhimanyu had a multiple personality disorder - kabhi Dr. Jekyll, toh kabhi Mr. Hyde. Pagal insaan...
"Umm, are you alright?" she asked tentatively. When she didn't get a response, she moved closer to him, and touched his hand... and just as quickly jerked it away. The spark of electricity that moved between them was downright freaky!
Freaking out just that little bit more, Khushboo quickly grabbed her bad, and walked to the auditorium door. But before she walked through, she turned and saw him still standing there, the smile still on his face. She wondered if he was still thinking about the electric spark. She shook her head, and turned back to go through the door.
But she didn't. She instead looked back at him, as if for confirmation that he was still standing there. Without realising it, a soft smile appeared on her face before she walked through.
Abhimanyu stayed standing there wondering what had exactly happened, before realising he was re-living old memories. He shook his head and slowly walked towards the auditorium, but not without thinking about her... what made her so intriguing to him?

"Oh my God Khushboo, what happened? Your hair looks really weird. Did you fall or something?" Shilpa gasped, wondering why Khushboo looked a bit bewildered, as if noticing her surroundings for the first time.
She dragged Khushboo to their seats, and made Khushboo quickly smooth out her hair before quietly introducing her to Yuvraaj, Siddhant and Tamanna. Khushboo nodded, and introduced herself, before settling back in her seat, ready to hear the speeches. Shilpa looked at Khushboo weirdly, but said nothing. She smiled at the close proximity of her and Yuvraaj instead.
