Hi Sonia!
Great Analysis, dear... Good to see you here😃
1st things 1st... did anyone else feel weird that there werent any breaks during the show?😆 Ads have always irritated me, but having to see a show uninterrupted by ad breaks was weird indeed. 😆
Coming to the show.. may be it was just me... but I was very impatient with the proceedings yday.... So i really couldnt stay focused as much as i wanted to be.... have been waiting to watch Ashish Vidyarthi back on tv after so many years... 30 mins of wait was something i couldnt put up with😆 more on him later.
Shaurya is good... have near seen Yuvraj before Warris and was pleasantly surprised. His entry reminded me of Vedant's entry in Virudh. He has a very soft, warm feel to him... but i guess when he is pushed to the wall... he is a different story all together that seem to come out in the last penalty shoot out... which he took up despite an injury(ok, a hero is supposed to do that.😆) Shaurya getting Karan reprimanded by the principal in such a smooth manner shows that he has a strategic mind... making the right move at the right time, giving the opposition absolutely no option of retaliating at that given moment. This brains will be a great asset to the parallel govt his family runs (if and when he joins them) Yday, given my impatience I really couldnt appreciate Simran's continuous banter... may be i will like her in days to come... or atleast learn to put up with her😆 Rucha does her part well.
The scene between Yashoda and her daughter was good, very warm... given what the promos have to say, it seems like Yashoda prays that the Virasat of her husband isnt inherited by their children and a ray of hope for her is Shaurya.
Coming to Shankar and Gayatri... Totally Adorable. I am really happy that they are showing the couple already married and expecting their 1st child... the comfort between the couple is already established and the actors are doing a commendable job in putting that across despite the fact that they are working for the 1st time together and it was probably the 1st scene they shot together👏 Sonia, It will be early days to say that their chemistry not being important because it isnt a romantic show.... it might go on to be the Usp of the show, which might ultimately determine the Waaris... like in Virudh which wasnt a romantic story... though the main story was of Vasudha caught between amidst the clash of ideologies of her father and boy friend... the chemistry of Sushant-Vasudha was what that had the viewers interested untill the end😳
Shankar is so childlike... he has a very clean heart, very innocent... there is no jealousy(at having lost a childhood), No bitterness about not being educated(may be just sadness), No greed.. he seems to be free from negative emotions... except one... Anger! Again his anger doesnt linger on... It comes and goes... but the when it stays... it rules him I was smiling all along when he was on screen... when he screamed at Gayatri... I was startled.... It was just one line that he didnt want this conversation anylonger... And you wouldnt breech that command unless the memory of his anger fades away😆
Gayatri on the other hand is very strong and persistent by nature... It does seem that despite Shankar's repeated efforts at not having the conversation... she hasnt accepted his way of life... she does see a hope in their child... that Shankar might change for the good. She is going to be a great influence on Shankar in the days to come... Shilpa seems the ideal choice to play that role.
Coming to Rudra Pratap Singh... They didnt show him completely, did they😕... it was a blurry image... but still it was undoubtedly the most powerful scene of the episode. Till the last one minute everything was pretty much relaxed... but this man came of screen... and nothing was going to be easy anymore. I did feel that Rudra Pratap was away from home for something... which is why i found the atmosphere at home pretty relaxed (compared to the promos)... I dont see that happening if he is around.
Smriti's last two shows have had very strong Patriarch's... whose 1st appearance on screen talk of their personalities... With Dhirendra Rai Singania, the Media Baron of Virudh... It was Power. He was up at 3 in the morning on his thread mill... issuing 'Stop Press' order because he had a breaking news..which will be news 2 hours later😆.. It was pretty much clear he wanted to retain his edge in the business, manipulative in nature & completely in command... not someone who will delegate his responsibilities because he thought that will take away from his Power. The other Patriarch is Kashinath Pandey, The Daddaji of Benaras from Mere Apne... he came out to greet the people assembled outside his haveli... that man cut figure of Justice... A man who would die for the sake of justice. And now it is Rudra Pratap Singh(RPS)... and the 1st impression he sent out was FEAR... undiluted FEAR. And that is going to be present as a cloud cast over this story.... and it is going to unleash fury if messed with.
What surprised me about that scene was RPS took it upon himself to call that goon(dont remeber his name) just in time and let him that he is so dead for having messed with his son. And Shankar came to know only the next day... RPS's network works very efficiently and they inform RPS 1st.. not Shankar. I had assumed that all the information streams to RPS through Shankar... but this is the other way around. So RPS is the brain of this system... he makes all the decisions and Shankar only executes them strictly in the frame of that plan(may be it is too early to say that, because we havent seen how they actually work)
Most of Smriti's shows have the Patriarch of the family about to hand over the Virasat to his children. They have been very ideological cum controversial Virasaats... and invariably there is rebel among the children and there is a dutiful child... who is ready to accept the Virasaat even with burden of guilt attached to it... simply because they love the father... and there are the other 2 kids who are given an upbringing sheltered from the demands/evil of the Virasat. Waaris seems to be in the same mould aswell... got to wait to see who turns into a rebel in this story.... and who is going to be the Waaris... Shankar or Shaurya
