I mean will she change for the better? Her behaviour ever since the ten year leap has just been sickening. Tired of her blaming Preet for everything. Miss the old Amba who loved Manu no matter what.

I think she will but only right at the end. If Jagan and/or Harjeet get redeemed, then Amba will have to change. Until then, we'll have to watch her being crappy.

I'd love to hear Ash's opinion on this one.

I really don't think she will change. Logically speaking of course. She has gone through a lot of bitter experiences in her life. Married at 15, a mother at 17, the pressure of producing a male heir, losing her husband at an early age. On top of that Charan was definitely elder than her. His beard had already started greying by the time he was killed. A widow in her 20s, having to protect her child at every step, Deena was not exactly a cooperative mil.

She has lost her goodness. Simmi's betreyal was the last straw it seems. And the Gunjan tried to break off her engagement. Preet also, in a way betrayed her. All her kids have disappointed her. She had to face public humiliation. Lost all her powers. Helpless and treated like shit in her own home. On top of that Preet promised revenge and all she is doing is making love to her sworn enemy.

I think she started having problems with Preet because she had begun using her own brains. She no longer parroted her mother's views. She publicly went against her mother in many occasions.

All of this is bound to affect her. She lost her heart with Simmi's betreyal. Simmi was her most obedient child. Her sole support. Someone who knew Mannu's secret. Someone she could confide in. I don't know if they actually showed any such scene but logically that is how it would have been in such a situation. Amba must have been whta? 16 or 17 when Simmi was born. They would have had a more of friendly relationship rather than a mother daughter one.

But in the show they will redeem her at the very end. Redeem her by changing her attitude towards Preet. Or maybe she will die trying to protect Simmi. But without her attitude towards Preet changing.

What would anyone know about motherhood at 17? Simmi was more of a trial and error for her and she failed. I think she must blame herself for it

She was 17 when Simran was born? How do you know? Just guessing?
I don't think her relationship was a friendship rather than a mother-daughter relationship. In their society, a 17 year age gap between mother and child is probably normal. And a 17 year old is considered a woman. So...
Logically, she'd never change

Often wondered myself about this.
There is a blooper, though. During the memory loss track, Amba thought she was 18 again. And she was apparently still unmarried at 18. So CVs changed her age of marriage.
Even then, that's put her first child at 20. Still so young. Maybe young girls learnt how to look after children so that they'd be ready by 20.

I couldn't think of better way of expressing my opinion. So I said friendship. I later corrected it to trial and error. The next post.
