First of all, "a few days" is not correct. But I get the message behind it--that how can love a few months old replace the life-long love of sisters. Trishna's crush is not really love.???
How long has Tanya known him and yet they have so much understanding and love??? So when you ask how Trish can put anyone above her sister, then please also ask how Tanya can she put anyone or any situation above her sister, Trishna. And please do not rehatch the rape.
Look, I get your point, and as thick-headed as I am, I am going to say that as hard as it is for me to accept Tanya's decisions, it's hard for people to understand why I don't. Is it really SO OBVIOUS, SO UNAMBIGUOUS? Trish bad; Tanya good. We may not use those words; but that is the implication.
I don't get how everyone just thinks Tanya is the nicer sister: because she was raped, and cries, and is suffering yet thinks about her family's reputation? She was "FORCED" into marrying Yuv so she did not betray her sister. Tanya is the nicer sister. Why? She thinks about her family. Yes, this is true and good for her, good for her family. Yes, last time I looked, Trish was the only one who spoke up for her family when they were belittled in front of others...not once or twice but from the beginning. She was not raped--who do you want her to think about? She has no knowledge only rage. and in the position to show concern for others. It seems that Tanya thinks of everyone else except herself. Now if this was true, she would not have married Yuv, period, or would have told Trish. Look, it's a bunch of bullsh*t when it is said she tried to say no, but Yuv did not listen. Trust me, if you do not want to get married, you would not be married in this situation. Tanya chose hers and her family's "reputation", but put these things above her sister. "Reputation" is important, privacy is important, but ripping your sister's heart out for the time being sucks. So if Tanya expects Trishna to understand without knowing and, irrespective of the explanation, become sister/sister again, well that's just not going to happen. But then again this is our beloved/hated VIVAAH, where anything goes!
You question why someone (Trishna) would love someone (Yuv) more than their sister (Tanya), given all the sacrifices sisters tend to make. Maybe Trishna helped her with her homework, talked her through a crush, helped her pick out things to wear, consoled her through her sadness, worried about how someone feels about and treats her. Can I not expect the same loyalty and love from the other sister Tanya? Did the horrible nature of what happened to her negate this sisterly responsibility? Because if I were in Trish's place, Tanya has one hell of a way showing it.
I personally would be much more devastated if it were my sister who betrayed me in this manner. And it is BETRAYAL. And it doesn't mean I am any less understanding or compassionate or loving of a sister than someone else.
